A Child's tears

I stop to listen
reminising as tears glisten my cheek
My soul, my heart in agony
Soul twinging in spite of me
To the reverbrating sound
of children's confounded crys

As the children mourn
So do I
As we watch our people's collapse
As we watch our people's collapse...

Sons crying alone...fatherless
Daughters crying alone...motherless
As we watch our slowly decaying race
Our children hide in shame their face
Refusing to accept reality's name

Waking to empty hearts and empty stomachs
My children mourn
Life's sacrifices too much for one just born
Empty cupboards and empty lives
Hoplessness and despair my children's nourishment
As parentless they strive to survive
Not realizing hope's futility
They despair feeling only scorn
Life's sacrifices too much for one just born

And as they continue their sorrowful journey
I mourn at what I must see
My children choking on despair
Their pain there for all to see
Their mournful agony laid bare
The world's pretended ignorance of their despair.

So alone they fight to live
Giving all they have when they've nothing to give
So alone they fight to live
While the world posessing much to share, refuses to give.

With nothing to give
They sacrifice their minds, their hearts
Their souls given to life
Their souls their sacrifice

So as we live our sorrowful lives
The absence of joy reflecting in our minds
We look back on our beginnings
Reminisings, our fight to survive
As the new era's child
