When law is lawless
And voices are voiceless
It’s time to wake up
When love is hateful
And hate is enjoyable
It’s time to rebuild
When the weak has millions and
The strong is kept in poverty
It’s time to recognize
When killing is accepted
And war is justified
It’s time to love
When money is power
And power is evil
It’s time to stand up
When rain is often
And sunshine is rare
It’s time to believe
When eyes are tearless
And skies are limitless
It’s time to recreate
When television is vicious
And music is negative
It’s time to reevaluate
When material is popular
And God is kept a secret
It’s time to become humble
When our children are adults
And our adults are children
It’s time to educate
When I spend life savings
For men who never save lives
It’s time to liberate
When our everything still isn’t enough
It’s time to wake up
Because doomsday was yesterday
This is a call to consciousness
A call to confidence
A call to commitment
A call to come and make a difference
I know one poem can’t save the world
But I wish that’s all it took
The time is approaching
Where I’ll let my voice be heard
Through my vote
Through my actions
Through my hope and
Through my passion
This is a call to consciousness
So set your alarm clock
Because the time is approaching
For the sleepers to wake up
