    Buried Treasure

It was a simple burial ceremony
A far cry from the accustomed excitement
There would be no celebration of a life once lived
    It was not requested
    Death came to soon

    Attendance was limited
I was the only one there
    Memories flashed across my mind
    Not one bad moment
    Up until now

    In so many ways
It is worse than burying your best friend
Even to bury a loved one is less painful
    Bending down
    Through tears
    I ask
How do I say thanks for everything?
    How do I say goodbye?
How do I bury my heart?
    Is my soul far behind?
    Is my body next?

    Even when

your pen spills black tears, it's a sweet thing to behold. This piece, upon closer 'introspection' ( :) ), reminds me of deferred dreams, arrested development...or unrequited love.

Marvelous, the way poetry speaks many different things in many different ways to each reader.

    Speak to me, Poet. :)

my mind seeks to know ...

where exactly you are when writing this peace
is that where i'm suppose to be when reading it
if it is ... i'm not sure i'm there ... cause
this peace has taken me everwhere

loving it BE ... thank you again!

    sometimes

it is more important to know how a 'peace' moves our own souls, provokes our OWN thoughts, than to have the author reveal him/herself. We are blessed just by being a part of the 'sharing' Then there are times when the opposite is true, and it serves to shed more light on the mood, and bring understanding to all who read.

I rather like the mystery, Heartbeat! Do your do, most eloquent brotha!
