Joyce Rogers...i write upon you, these thoughts.

In the still of the night
I hear you cry out to me
    In anguish
    Upset at the many trials
Forced upon you by life’s woes
    Time and time again
    You cry…asking

    WHY…

    Why must I suffer
Why must I endure this pain
Why must I agonize over the wrongs of others
    Why?

    Unanswered Questions
    Swim in your mist
    As you think of this
    And other things
    Bewildering to you
    Black Men keeping you down
    By not being true
    Black Women pointing fingers
    Not lifting you up
No water for a weary soul
    Drowning…in an empty cup
No shoulder to lean after a disheartening day
No caress for ages aches untold
No words of comfort that a lover would say
    No one to care
    No one to hold
    …your heart

    hopelessly helpless
    you feel
    as
    night
    turns
    to
    day
    turns
    to
    night
    trapped in life’s vicious cycle
moving through the passages of time.

    BLACK WOMEN…
    …I LOVE YOU.

    {there are no BROKEN, BLACK WOMEN...only women in waiting.}

    Thanks Guys

Rich, Rich, Rich! Thank you for your kind comments.
Glad you enjoyed the read. I know of no one else on this board that bring delight to a poet's heart, the way you do. You are so dedicated to the craft of writing poetry and to this forum as a moderator. Thanks for all the hours you put in at this forum each week. Keep dem haikus coming.

Baller: That is a beautiful poem you scribed. I appreciate your poetic response very much. I have always appreciated your sensivity when you scribe. Maybe we can do another duet. I pick the situation this time...how bout it bro???

j'hiah: Truly you have captured the essence of Haiku. I still remember the way I felt when I read the first Haiku you posted. Usually this style takes a little practice before you are able to touch the soul of another. But this was not the case with you...not at all. Keep scribing my brother...I am enjoying every little bitty line.

    Whispers in the wind....

It is but a moment of fear
    when we face the tears
    of past indiscretions
    the subliminal thoughts
    root in our our hearts
    bringing the spirit low
    have faith in those times
    when things aren't so clear
and your mind is racked with
    temptation
    stay focused on God
    take your worries to him
    thru whispers in the wind
    he'll cleanse you of sin
In his word he promised he would
    a broken woman
    is just for a moment
to appreciate his will for you
when you give your heart freely
    he will never forsake you
    just hold on.............hes transforming

    a better you.......
