    A Black Eye , A Woman’s cry
love has gone awry but she still tries
to make reasons out of lies
forever his alibi to her very own homicide
    Why
Why do you continue to pick up the broken pieces
defend his actions with well rehearsed speeches
I see you dying from the weight of his blood sucking leeches
n his fist of fury have left you dumb deaf and teethless
and as I preach this I'm hearing screeches
you hiding them bruises with creaming white bleaches
to death due you part is your sick a** thesis
until it all goes down and everything ceases
and your name is added to the growing deceased list

shots are fired from the bed
a woman is found lying dead
head full of lead beige sheets covered in crimson red
the channel 9 news anchor reported
    on unhappily married newlyweds
and at the age of 29 her obituary read
that n**** said he would kill me
all though he beat my *** daily
I never took his *** seriously
When I prayed to God that he would set me free from my misery
I never ever thought that my life would be
dismissed this is so f***** , so final and so senseless
I was to young to die for no purpose
and we sit back and reminisce
On her Black Eye on her last cry
this is a big *** mother f******* warning sign
I'm so sick of seeing my sisters dying
    and hearing people crying
    cuz she was just trying
and steady pacifying a ***** and his cheatings beatings n lying
hell I know I know love is blinding
but wake up and heed the sirens
    A Black Eye A Woman’s cry
get your S*** get out run if you must hide
the time is now you must do or die
do not become the next victim
    of domestic homicide

It's a horrible thing to ...die slow
It's even more horrible to watch your life go

what about the ones, you're leaving behind
what about "you"...that you refuse to find?

and what about the "next" one...that he will pounce upon?
he will work on his next victim...the moment you are gone

This is really a piece I would like to ...dislike. But if reading it can save just one soul, then it's a good thing.
Here's hoping this message travels faster than the fist. tight piece.

I liked the way you posed this piece so powerfully, so directly to make sure attention was paid. And your rhyme scheme was incredible. So many women get so caught up in this, they can't see their way out, or so it seems, until it is too late. Flow on.

I'm feeling this piece and the message...it is a message that needs to get out.
"Don't wait until it's too late"

I really like the energy that came from you, it has to be said, its reality.
And just maybe someone will hear this and it will be the strength beneath there feet, i know personally all about this subject, and i bow down to you for bringing it to the table sis.

Keep the streams of life coming.

an amazing piece of writing. even if the subject is something we don't want to see, it is reality and we need to kick open the doors behind which things like this happen and sweep the foulness out: the foulness of the perpertrator in putting his hands on someone he's supposed to love and the foulness of the victim in allowing it to keep going (i know, i know - don't blame the victim but in some oppressive situations, the victim can be too used to things being a certain way to even think of doing something to change the situation. that's what i mean by foulness of the victim)
