Exod.1 [5] And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.

Exod.24 [1] And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.
[9] Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:

Luke.10 [1] After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
[17] And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

Seventy is a symbolic number, representing the sum or fullness of entities. In Genesis 10, the so-called table of nations lists 70 nations of the world, and Abraham emerges from these nations as the head of a new people of God’s choosing (Gn 12). Abraham, in turn, through Jacob, becomes a family of 70 that goes down to Egypt (Gn 46:27). The 70 of Jacob become multitude in Egypt but they are represented by the 70 elders of Israel (Ex 24:1). In later Judaism, the 70 elders of ancient Israel form the basis for the 70 elders who traditionally make up the Jewish council called the Sanhedrin.

Luke presents the unique account of Jesus appointing 70 (some texts read 72) disciples who, in addition to the Twelve (apostles), are sent on a mission. Perhaps the number corresponds to the 70 nations of the world and suggests an incipient universal mission to the Gentiles initiated by Jesus.

The growth and spread of the Christian faith are not only owed to the pillars (the twelve apostles) but also to the 70 disciples of whom Luke the evangelist is surely a worthy representative.

The Lord has called seventy of Elders to be witnesses for God. Moses called the seventy to stand, but not with him in the presence of God, as it was hard for Moses to endure that glory, but Moses told all the seventy men what was said what they could see from a distance, and they went and told it to the people. So here we see what was soon to become a quorum of ordained and called to be witnesses for the Lord.

The seventy of Jacob's family members represented witnesses also to learn and record Egypt in their family history as part with the Lord's work.

Luke 10: 1-9 Then the Lord appointed Seventy Elders to go into the cities two by two and witness for himself and his Father, preaching the gospel and healing the sick. These would be known as missionaries. These also had been ordained Elders in the Melchizedek priesthood of which Jesus Christ is High Priest.

Jacob later spiritually named Israel having "prevailed" from a trial from God had twelve sons who became the Twelve tribes of Israel, Judah or Jews being only one of the twelve tribes. All people who are faithful to the Lord will become part of this "House of Israel" earning an heritage among them as determined by the Lord. Ten of these tribes are known scripturally as the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel. They are not lost to the Lord. They are scattered among the people of the world, so you never can tell who it is you are talking to.

The people of Enoch who was taken up or translated and was "not found," he and the righteous that followed him says in Isaiah that they will return from far on a" highway through the deep". To me this means they will be returning in a miraculous way. Exciting.
