    First Akan Shrine

    Peace and Blessings,

I'm 99% certain that the first Akan shrine in the US after slavery was Bosum Dzemawodzi in New York under Nana Yao Opare Dinizulu I which was begun in 1967. He brought the shrines of Nana Asuo Gyebi, Nana Esi and Nana Adade Kofi in 1965. The first training of Akan priests began in 1969.

Onipa Abusia Temple, an Akan spiritual temple, under the leadership of Akomfohene Nana Esi Dinizulu and Nana Adzua Opare, were among those first members of the Bosum Dzemawodzi and they both continue to serve in this great tradition today.

Asona Aberade Shrine was the first Akan shrine in Philadelphia.

    Medasi (Thanks),

    Kwabena? what's popping? Its Thabiti!

Word. You are more than likely correct. It would make more sense as Nana Dinizulu is the reason that Nana Akonnedi shrine ends up doing work in the west.

    THe cliffs of the Dogon?
The 7 secret Underground rivers in Abbysinia?
The pyramids of Kush in Sudan,
or the Giza plateau, not mentioned?
