CHICAGO -- The Chicago Police Department is getting closer to having its next superintendent.

The three final candidates that were announced on Thursday are: Dr. Cedric Alexander, a top law enforcement official from Georgia's DeKalb County, Anne Kirkpatrick, a veteran police chief who has served in the Spokane and Seattle, Washington areas, and Eugene Williams, who is the Chief of Support Services for the CPD. Williams oversees the department's $1.4 billion budget. He's been on the force for 36 years.
