there's something about her eyes
the way they look into mine
I can tell we both see life
through the same brand of window
those eyes sometimes travel my way
for telltale seconds
speaking a universal language
that can't get past her throat
we have so much in common
there could be a world of understanding
if it was
that kind of thing
she's the model I would order up
if I had such a checklist
tough on the outer, soft gold inside
athletic, kind and smart
I think about what it would be like
to make love to her all night long
kiss her softly and hold her
spoil her like I love to do
play together and have fun
teach each other and talk
I know she's
thought about it too
but she's 15 years younger than me
and this isn't middle age
where it wouldn't make a difference
here the years
stand tall like trees
blocking the way
I think I'm cursed
right girl, wrong time

This was anouther one of those poems that i would
just like to keep on file, for the simple fact that i
experienced this scenario first hand this past summer
with my first boyfriend, he was 22, which made
him 7 years my senior. But i loved how this just
brought back some the memories of him,
that I just knew i had forgotten.
But over all, this is a very touching piece.
And it has a wonderful flow.
