Presidential Debate Uncertain

The Republican nominee, John McCain, says the debate should be postponed until Congress reaches an agreement on the Wall Street rescue package.

But talks on the $US700 bailout ended today without any sense that an agreement was close.

Democratic nominee Barack Obama says he hopes Senator McCain will change his mind and attend tomorrow's debate.

"My sense is that we can do more than one thing at a time," he said.

"I think that's part of what's required if you want to be president of the United States, to be able to deal with difficult situations but still make your vision clear to the country and that's part of what this debate process is all about."

Destee,

Thank you for providing this thread and information. Obama will be there, regardless, and McCain is a maybe, but more likely a show-up. Actually, it all depends on the Markets outcome today!

In the Spirit of Sankofa!

Barack Obama was tonights easy winner in the Presidental Debate with John McCain.

Pundits, polls, groups, Independents, Democrats, and Republicans across the board, all viewed Obama as the clear winner, in a commanding performance, and easily held his own. McCain, on the other hand, never looked Obama in the face nor eye to eye. Obama persistenly eyed the opponent. McCain became angry, sneering and made many gaffs. Obama's style was more Presidental, and showed profound knowledge concerning foreign affairs, McCain's strong suit. Barack scored stongly on matters of foreign affairs, especially Russia, Iraq, Iran and won many over with impressive judgment, being agreeable, and crisp answers.

It was the great debate, and the Black Man scored heavily!

trudat, homie.....

Obama's style was more Presidential, and showed profound knowledge concerning foreign affairs

a note: on CBS they had the vice presidential candidates to come on after and backstop their man. biden came on and made a strong comment.

palin declined to appear.

mccain suffers from a deadly form of skin cancer and is not likely to make it if elected. palin could actually become president.
that one fact is reason enough to vote against them.
