I mean no disrespect, but nothing you're saying/writing makes sense, other than it revealing how dated your take on black folk etc. really is...

You're Just somebody who benefited from the struggles others waged...

Now you're just covering your own read end...I. e. do be upfront to why it's all gotten so 'personal' to you...

And you represent nobody but yourself...FYI...

This is about more than 'the glass is half empty' or 'half full'...I don't believe I've even seen one of those well off blacks you presume and assume will usher in a better future for us all...I do come into contact with more than my share of worst off blacks, and that's on the bus! So when was the last time you drove or somebody drove you around the city? It's downright heartbreaking...

I never said it will come from a well off or poor anyone. Well off blacks still deal with racism. They are attacked 1st. But economics is still the key. Power has a price. It must be collectively bought

Whatever remains of Detroit's black rich keep their mouths shut...It's black upper and middle class as awoi...A bunch of relative outsiders are its council people...Don't be tripping over idealized takes, do keep in mine the obvious reality checks/wake up calls...FYI...

And where do you know me from? You had associated me with being a part of the 'street life' subculture, whereas I had held down a job, from the time I opted out for co-op during my senior year in high school...FYI...

        3. From Fredrick Douglass to Garvey to X and King to Sharpton, the definition of blackness has remained essentially the same. The only difference is how it's been applied. So we disagree on that

As regards the destee.com forums: These days, they seem and sound to be the only game around, i. e., other forums are socially oriented (not political forums)...I'm also limited to what I can even post back to you here...FYI..

Guil War II (the actually invasion/occupation/etc.) of Iraq was equally bigoted, since no link between Hussein and Bin Laden has ever been proven...Actually both hated each other! Hussein was allegedly an atheist...Bin Laden was the would be 'savior' of the downtrodden worldwide (most arab) muslim masses...FYI...

I grew up on the lower east side of Detroit. It's as hood as it gets. People there all knew the basics of capitalism. We just didnt believe in wallowing iun poorness or bathing in ghetto. So no, I dont think being a skank or saggin pants are keeping it real. I wasnt raised that way. When we got out of the hood, we didnt proudly carry it with us to the new house

Are you prepared to engage in continuing discussions and debates, or just drop by when you feel like it? I would've expected you to do better than quip comments etc. FYI...

You say you've retired, but the struggle's far from over, and I regret who I'm guessing might well be the adult children of my era's activists are doing it all backwards...

Yesteraday's ideology has become today's social and political dogma..

Anyway do get back to me...Thanks! FYI...

        1. Thanx, we cant agree on everything. If I dont like liver and you do....

        2. I participated in the MMM and the MWMs. There were all kinds of commitees going on nation wide. None of that made you any blacker.

        3. Yes, I retired! I did many things for the cause while working. I still do things. I just pick my spots

Do forgive me for not remembering how long our exchanges have been going on...Too easy to be ''sidetracked ', considering all of the b. s. anybody has to cope and deal with, around these parts 24/7...FYI...

I don't know what you feel and think about the Nation of Islam, but there's my strong impression they're becoming an influence, i. e., among those who are retreating from true equality for blacks in this nation, hence their revisionist takes being quoted by posters on their threads...Anyway: [email protected]
