Black People : What is Your Nationality?

you got jokes....huh..........ANSWER THE QUESTION.

I will answer the question you asked to the best of my ability as soon as you tell me what you mean when you say "nation". Once I know what you mean when you say "nation" I'll know what you mean when you say "nationality".

I don't know what a "nation" is. It is just a word that has to be tied to something if it references people. Non-white people just latch onto words given them by the smartest and most powerful white people and then we run with the words...usually in a manner where we end up confusing ourselves.

If you can have a "nation" without people then please explain, in detail, what a "nation" is. If a "nation" involves people then a "nation", logically speaking, must make reference to what the people are doing or what the people are not doing.

You have stated that when you say "nation" you mean:

The body of inhabitants of a country united under a single government.

A body of inhabitants? A body of what kind of inhabitants? Are you talking about people? "Yes" or "No"?

nations are an artificial construct. they don't really exist. they are created on paper and are enforced by phisical power. None of us, all humans. don't have a nationality.

Well Corvo that depends. When someone uses a word they have to know what they are talking about. ang-EL asked a question about "nationality' and all questions are valid. In order to answer the question I have to know what ang-EL means when he or she says what they say. This is the process. Understanding is a process that calls for questions and answers. Most non-white people have been trained into not asking questions...which is the reason we don't understand many things in depth.

I don't think ang-EL has the intent to confuse people and therefore must know what they mean when they say what they say. As soon as I find out what ang-EL means I will answer the question that ang-EL has asked to the best of my ability.

I hear you man. I'ts true that many don't ask much of what is feed, to us. Some times we don't take the time to really pay attention. The way I see it countries and so called nations have been created by those who wish to control what is not theirs. They take by force and creat the kingdom/county/nation of their dreams. These things have often been artificially constructed.

What is your Nationality? What do your children call themselves? What do you check on an application?......

American by itself is not a Nationality. African American is not a Nationality because Africa is obviously a Continent. I comission you to do a survey. And ask your European(so-called white) friends, schoolmates, associates, co-workers, clergy members...etc what is thier Nationality and they will without hesitating tell you with confidence. Irish American, Itallian American, Nigerian American, Iranian American, Polish American....etc.

My point is that the Native Americans and the so-called Blacks of America are the only people on the planet without a flag and a Nation represented by the family of Nations.

And please dont say it doesnt matter or Im above that or Im so into my Africaness that I trancend the notion of it all because every one we know frome Africa has a Flag and a Nation they proudly proclaim. It unconstitutional to be a Citizen and not proclaim your Natiolity. Even if it was stolen from us. The 13th, 14th and 15th amendments implimented cilil rights which are nothing but granted priveledges that can be violated at the discression of the officials. Plus if you look carefully you will notice that the word citizen in the above mentioned amendments start with a lower case c. But if you look elswhere it is Citzen with a capitol c. Dont believe me check it and holla back!
Gee they even use a capital c when referring to citizens of foreign countries (tenth amendment)

The irony of this thread is that most "white people" identify as Caucasian (capital C) on most demographic data as well as "White, not Hispanic".

Are we to conclude then that "white people" do not exist because there is no country for one to identify as Caucasian or Hispanic?

For example, Irish-American speaks not to ethnicity but nationality. There is no Irish race or ethnicity even though they may consider themselves a race based on particular commonalities.

On most demographic data "Asian-Americans" identify primarily as "Asian" or "Asian-Pacific Islander". What is the difference between this and one referring as "African-American". Pacific Islander does not even speak to a sub-continent.
