ST JEROME, JUSTUS & JOESEPHUS: The Fight for an apostleship appointment and writing the Gospel history.
By Andre Austin

Judas is now dead and it becomes necessary to maintain 12 apostles. The casting of lots is between Jutus and Matthias –Acts 1:23-26 (Being ID as Josephus Bar Matthias author of War of the Jews.
“There is a connection between a passage in Josephus short autobiography (Life) and the above passage. At the beginning of his autobiography, Josephus described how his family members often took the name Matthias. It should be noted that by claiming Matthias as his family name Josephus was trying to graft himself onto the Jews royal family the Maccabees, which were descended from Matthias “The Hammer”Maccabeus , who fought foreign powers from colonization, ban circumcision, eating swine, slavery etal.
In his autobiography, Josephus also described his competitor, an evil, mad, wicked historian named Jutus. This Jutus wrote a history that contradicted Josephus book War of the Jews. As in the passage in Acts, Matthias was chosen while Justus was not. One obvious typological point that the two stories create is that Josephus’s history was the one “chosen” by the Flavians, while Justus’s disappeared (see Shakespeare’s Secret Messiah By Joe Atwill pp.254-255.
I don’t know why but I renewed my interest in Justus by reading a brief dossier on him by Jerome:
“Justus of Tiberias of the province Galilee also attempted to write a History of Jewish affairs and certain brief Commentaries on the Scriptures but Josephus convicts him of falsehood. It is known that he wrote at the same time as Josephus himself” Jerome was secretary to Pope and died in 420AD.
I recalled reading a passage in Mark 5 and Matthew 8 about two demon-possessed men. One is restored to his right mind probably by a good whipping like “Simon was made Sensible by this (beating]”-see WOJ Book 7 chapter 2 34) . As a detective I was curious about the mystery of the two demon-possessed men. One went to Decapolis to publish. I knew Josephus in War of the Jews was a mirror opposite of the Gospels in many subjects. Like people dying of thirst at Samaritan Mountain and in the Gospel they drink with satisfaction, In the WOJ there is a Jesus who is executed then they have super, In the Bible its just the opposite and it goes on. In the Gospels people are pleased with unknown person ID as John who publishes in Decapolis, However in the WOJ we have Jutus who write a commentary on Vespasian making an outrage at Decapolis.
First I will show the two Gospels accounts then brief excerpts of Josephus autobiography called Life:
Mark 5:15-20
15 When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 16 Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man—and told about the pigs as well. 17 Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.
18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. 19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis[a] how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.
Matthew 8:28-
Jesus Restores Two Demon-Possessed Men

28 When he arrived at the other side in the regionof the Gadarenes,[a] two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 29 “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?”
30 Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31 The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
32 He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water. 33 Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. 34 Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.
When, therefore, Justus undertook to write about these facts, and about the Jewish war, that he might appear to have been an industrious man, he falsified in what he related about me, and could not speak truth even about his own country; whence it is that, being belied by him, I am under a necessity to make my defense; and so I shall say what I have concealed till now. And let no one wonder that I have not told the world these things a great while ago. For although it be necessary for an historian to write the truth, yet is such a one not bound severely to animadvert on the wickedness of certain men; not out of any favor to them, but out of an author's own moderation. How then comes it to pass, O Justus! thou most sagacious of writers, (that I may address myself to him as if he were here present,) for so thou boastest of thyself, that I and the Galileans have been the authors of that sedition which thy country engaged in, both against the Romans and against the king [Agrippa, junior] For before ever I was appointed governor of Galilee by the community of Jerusalem, both thou and all the people of Tiberias had not only taken up arms, but had made war with Decapolis of Syria. Accordingly, thou hadst ordered their villages to be burnt, and a domestic servant of thine fell in the battle. Nor is it I only who say this; but so it is written in the Commentaries of Vespasian, the emperor; as also how the inhabitants of Decapolis came clamoring to Vespasian at Ptolemais, and desired that thou, who wast the author [of that war], mightiest be brought to punishment. And thou hadst certainly been punished at the command of Vespasian, had not king Agrippa, who had power given him to have thee put to death, at the earnest entreaty of his sister Bernice, changed the punishment from death into a long imprisonment (Life 65)
In the Gospel people were amazed at John for what he wrote at Decapolis but upset at Jutus at Decapolis for what he wrote.
According to Josephus “Demons…are no other than spirits of the wicked” WOJ 7,VI, 185 a description both fitting for Justus and John. Josephus calls Jutus “mad”. I’m just trying to figure out who these two demons were John and Simon/Peter or John and Jutus.
In WOJ John and Simon drank human blood and ate divided up bodies so they could keep up fighting the Romans because they ran out of food (WOJ Book 5 chapter 10-440). Apparenly John stop eating:
“John came neither eating or drinking and they say he has a demon (Matt 11:16-20 This is why Peter is called Satan and told to get behind Jesus/Titus and travel to Rome to be executed (Luke 23:26) and John would stay in prison and write for the Caesars (John 21:17-25) John is not mention by name but by his activities as a writer.
So at least we know the demons that went out of John and into allegorically called 2,000 pigs were not pigs but the infected many of the Jews.
