Black Entertainment : Rapper Dies While Drunk Driving - YOLO

The original story broke just about 10 days ago[1].. by the san bernadino sun..
Then it was picked-up, spiced-up a bit, packed with some search-engine-optimized keywords: Tweet, Rapper, Drake, Yolo then almost simultaneously posted by heavy-weight media outlets, Mail Online[2] in the UK and The Huffington[3] Post here in America.

It's interesting to see how they spiced it up and focused it on the Huffington Post site. They also covered the story in there "LIVE" segment where they falsely blamed the "rapper" and blew the whole thing off with a snide smirk. If you check out the conversation threads, you'll see just how many people got the wrong impression about this tragedy. You'll see just how many people are talking about how this is "evolution" or old-heads talking about "these young kids today".. like no young people died in car wrecks in their younger days.

I think the journalist were completely irresponsible in their decision to focus on the sensational. I think they disrespected the families of all the victims and dehumanized all them.. especially the, so-called "rapper". But not too many people actually noticed any of that.. they were too busy wagging their fingers and condemning the condemned.. doing to us what they already did.. again.

Here is some video from the San Bernadino Sun..

And here is some of Ervin Mckinness's Music..

There's no gangster vibe in his music.. no violence.. just a young artistic dude starting out on his life journey.

They can dehumanize us.. that's what they do.. but we cannot do it to ourselves too..

-peace.

He wasn't the driver. He was a passenger. But the "Rapper" angle proved to be more provocative.. folks hear the title and just run with it. Now this kid is being blamed for the deaths of everybody in the car.. when he is actually one of the victims. Careless, opportunistic media sets the pace.. and we fall in right behind 'em.

Dont be a parrot Kem.. dig deeper.

peace

Thanks for clearing that up because this is the first i've heard of this and i'm sitting here trying to figure out how he's texting and doing 120 mph at the same time....

Then as i re-read it, it even states that he wasn't the driver but vaguely:

Drunk af going 120 drifting corners #F**kIt YOLO." Not long after he tweeted it, the rapper, along with three other passengers and the driver, were dead, after their car sped through a red light and crashed into a wall in Ontario, Calif.

No matter how the story is..one thing that saddens me the most is that young folks are dying before thier time. I am so hurt by that..

I hate this term YOLO. Kids use this on all various of forums. It may be true to some extend but it feels like a curse to me.. I wish they stop it..

Peace

Yes, it is crazy and sad. This is the first time that i've seen the acronymn 'yolo'. Ok, to the kids it may sound cool, but does it mean that because you feel you only live once that you're supposed to get twisted and get behind the wheel of a car and step on the gas. NO! It means you're supposed to try your best to live it to the fullest in an upright and positive manner to make an impact on society in some positive form, shape or fashion.

I'm getting madder as i think about it because my son didn't put me up on this one (the term YOLO), so we have to talk about this later on after school..

I'm sure it's a term that makes them feel cool and all, but it has that undertone of GET RICH OR DIE TRYING to it that these fake snitch @ss rappers like CURTIS JACKSON (50 cent) FAT SNiTCH @ss JOEY & everybody's favorite punk (getting chased off of basketball courts in his own neighborhood leaving his friends getting beat up, in front of hundreds and hundreds of people) JIMMY I CAN'T RHYME SO I TALK OVER BEATS JONES then get's in the studio talking about how gangsta he is!!

I gaurantee at least two of em was telling him to chill out and wanted to get OUT of that car. He was probably the only one that wanted to ho out of this life. Them other dudes was probably like "WTF man!!!"

If tru, this wasnt the 1st time he did something like that. If you are a tru friend, sometimes you just take the keys
