Black People : Are we done?

Are we done?
are we to simply become dark skinned Europeans?
All our culture wiped away.. our ethnic edges filed down
so as not to offend our European sensibilities..
are we to walk like them?.. talk like them?.. hold our existence like them?
to share their disdain for the natural order of things..
Is that what this is? A death march? a trail of tears?
Is all this talk of action just us flailing about while the viper's venom
creeps through the thought-stream of our ethnic consciousness?..
like a stab through the liver on the battle field.. are we doomed?
have we simply slipped into a hazy fantasy as we bleed from existence..
only to be reborn Chad or Aubrey.. Karen or Drew?...
to be judged by the degree and content of our European character?..

Nowaday folks can run the bus over the global Black community, everytime the corporations say so, just as long as one has an African name.

That seeem to be all the Afrocentricity, left
in the media these days,

when at one time it was on every block, in every Black youth center, on every Black award ceremony on television, in half the churches, on the walls of 1/3 of the homes, and on the radio.
