Africa : Marcus Garvey's vision alive: Ghana sets aside land for Africans in the Diaspora

An open invitation to join the celebration of our ancesters victory

I am Dr. Sinclair (Tutu) Andersen; I am the Ashanti Maroon Secretary of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jamaica West Indies. Our ancestors were Maroon(ed) on the island during the transatlantic slave trade. We came from Ghana, we are Ashanti, through DNA evidence it was proven that I am indeed the cousin of King Otumfuo Tutu and Asantehene Osei Tutu I, is my great- great grand father, and my great grand fathers were Captains Cudjo and Okamapog . We were the Ashantis that later became the Jamaican Maroons, and leaders of the rebellion against slavery. Our family members were Queen Abina (aka) Nanny and one of Jamaica National Heroes. Her brothers were Captain Cudjoe, Captain Johnny, Captain Accompong, Captain Quako, and Captain Kofi. Our ancestors fought a valiant war with Great Britain for Freedom, Justice and the right to govern ourselves for over eighty years. Great Britain unable to conquer entered into a treaty the (Personification of the British Maroon Blood Treaty of 1739) between King George 2nd (King of Great Britain), France, Ireland, and Jamaica and the Ashanti Captain Cudjoe of Jamaica and Ghana Africa. Although we were taken from our homes, the spirit of our Ashanti ancestors (Golden Stool) gave us the fighting spirit to endure almost three hundred years of exile. We won a treaty but we have not been able to exercise our franchise so we need help to (a) fulfill our determination to defend our land and rights under the treaty (b) to establish Maroon corporations and chapters and team with well established companies on a contractual basis to set up green energy and natural herb projects (c) to promote and maintain the remarkable rich ancient Maroon culture that currently suffers from poverty and marginalization. All sympathizer and well wisher are invited to the First Annual Celebration of the signing of the treaty entered into on March 1, 1739. While we crave your indulgence to celebrate with us on this momentous occasion, we must advise that we are experiencing difficult financial problems in these harsh economic times. We therefore appeal to all for your financial assistance to ensure efficient viability to our objective. Come help us celebrate that victory. It would be a privilege for the Ashanti Maroon in the Caribbean if The King of Ghana would honor us with his presence on the 1st day of March 2011 for a celebration to honor our ancestors as the guest of honor. We call on the grand children of: Marcus M. Garvey, Dr. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Booker T. Washington, and others such as Ms. Oprah Winfrey, Sydney Poitier, Taylor Perry, Usain Bolt, sons of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh to be in attendance. From the Jamaica government we extend invitations to the Minister of Culture Ms. Grange, Minister of Tourism Mr. Edmond Bartlett, and Minister of Agriculture Dr. Christopher Tufton as well as most of the Maroon chiefs from around the world. Please come and honor us with your presence. Contact: Address 17 Parkington Plaza , Kingston 10 Phone: 1(876) 435-4038 or 1(876) 908-2688 Visit the Maroons online Keywords: Accompong 1739 treaty.
