Black Relationships : The Angry Black Man/ Woman Trope

i hope i didn't inspire anger, my sistah, coz being from the deep south--mississippi--i know exactly what you're talking 'bout. i know racism doesn't start, and end, with black men as its focal point. having five sisters, a ton of nieces, many cousins, and two granddaughters, i know black women walk through the same flames i do. and i know they need to be supported in their struggle...just like i need their support, in my struggles.

i will always be there for you...to open any, and every, door in my power to open...for you.

know that.

You wish....No, anger here. Just provoked some thought on why people keep saying this, when I don't believe it's true. Or, I don't believe their interpretation of what is happening is based on reality. Like I told you on the other thread, I am not a single woman, so when a man tries to approach me, I say hello, give a friendly smile, and keep it moving. I have absolutely never witnessed a Sister being rude to a Brother in the way you and other Brothers have claimed. Now, I have witnessed Brothers rudely comment on a Sisters breast or butt, I once witnessed a Brother touch my cousins breast and he got splashed with her drink, so things like that are met with disdain.

No, this isn't about opening doors. This is about the insinuation that AA women are angry. Which you insinuated on the sly on the thread about #HowToTalkToBlackWomen, and then you wrote a poem about it, too. But, it's not just you that perpetuates this myth, many AA men who prefer white women use this as their excuse.

I guess AA women are confined to having only certain emotions, and anger is not allowed. And, I also suppose that if a AA woman doesn't welcome your advances, she must be "An Angry Black Woman". Even though it is possible that she doesn't greet other AA men the same way. I'm just sayin...

It's all that gangsta hippity hop music yall listen to

Tell me this... How does it feel, to open the doors for the white women who hate your guts? And, how does it feel to be so considerate of white women, Asian women, Mexican women, etc., knowing that their men wouldn't hardly ever do that for AA women? I just wonder if some of y'all have any dignity sometimes.
