Black Relationships : Supreme Court Approves Marriage Equality

Approval for same sex marriage gains increased support with each passing generation. I doubt any group could muster up a successful constitutional amendment against it. I agree with you that marriage is an institution created by God. It is also a legal status convey by the State; that's why atheist can marry as well as those who believe in God. The Supreme Court has rightly ruled that the right to marry is a Constitutional one that the State cannot abridge.

The passage you quoted says nothing about "when married people ( man to a woman) have sex that is supposed to be when they are the closest to God." Also, in context, the passages in Matthew 19 refers to Jesus answering questions about divorce.
If you know the Bible than you should go search for it.

I don't understand the logic of the above response. You wrote:

Doing you know that when married people ( man to a woman) have sex that is supposed to be when they are the closest to God.

Below is from Matthew 19: 4-6

4 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' 5 and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh' ? 6 So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

I accurately pointed out that the passage you cited does NOT make the claim you made:

...when married people ( man to a woman) have sex that is supposed to be when they are the closest to God.

It simply isn't there. If there is another place in the Bible where the declaration you made is affirmed please show me. But clearly, it's not Matthew 19: 4-6.

It is healthier for you to find it. It is in there. There are reasons in the Bible why men and women marry. This will be really good for you to find, especially since you are a man married to a woman for over 20 years. You can even use Bible Gateway. When you find it may then you will understand something new about the sanctity of the marital bond between a man and a woman.

A same sex marriage will never equal a marriage between a man and a woman, because it is not designed for same sex couples. Same sex couples initially wanted just their civil unions to be recognized under the law as their way of marrying for property rights and other partner rights....not for their unions to be recognize as a marriage which is based on an institution outlined in the Bible.

Keep searching because it is in there.

We will see consequences across the US for what was done.

I will provide the verses to you because you just want to challenge everything I present to you. So for this you will need to find it on your own. It is what makes our marriages so special, especially if you are a Bible believer.

I am a Bible believer but "marriage" is a legal status conveyed to people by the state. What makes two people "married" is not the church ceremony but how marriage is legally defined by the state. This is true in most countries. Fortunately, now in America same-sex couples can legally marry and have all the legal rights that opposite sex couples do; so says the Supreme Court of the United States.

Same sex couples wanted the legal status of marriage because they understood civil unions were not equal to marriage legally. One of the most important differences was the automatice "next of kin" designation marriage gives a couple. Well, now we're all in the same boat.

I have no interest in searching for the opposite-sex nookie-brings-the couple-closest-to-God rationale. You provided a Scriptual passage earliest, which clearly doesn't make any such claim. The "you go find it yourself" excuse is plain nonsense. If the rationale existed you would have presented it long ago.

By the by, the church I attend is a welcoming one, with open communion and acceptance of both opposite sex and same sex couples.
