Black People : The Blame Game

What is the difference between "blaming" someone else , "pointing finger" at someone else
and calling it like it is? Calling a spade a spade?

Overstand,

There are things afikan people have to do in this setting to improve our 'position', and there
are many individuals and groups trying to do just that. It doesn't get much press. What does
get press is black folk speaking truth to reality. We have to do the work, this is true. We
also have to speak on it.

I've said in past posts that one thing worse than a 'complainer' is a complainer complaining
about the complainer. And so, how does that resolve anything???

Or is the complainer complaining about the complainer simply calling a spade a spade, which
them brings me back to my original question..., "what's the difference between....?"

I get the overall premise of jamesfrmphilly.
After awhile, the constant pointing out the complainer/blamer
tends to take on a stockholm syndrome-attic identity.

I think the question before us is whether acknowledging and acting on our own power to break the shackles of oppression and transform our condition is a necessary first step in doing so.

I agree with you. I made it clear we have to do the work toward
that which you've expressed. Yet giving attention to a problem plays a role
in getting us toward that 'first step'.

Many of us ain't woke. You know this. A pervasive environment
is all but undetectable. How does one realize that 'something is
wrong' if they can't 'see' that something is wrong? How does
one break the shackles if they do not 'see' the shackles?

If our being 'held back' is all in our heads, then how does one
get in the heads of individuals to "tear the crust away from the
3rd-eye lid"?

Our being "held back" most certainly is NOT all in our heads. Brother Al D acknowledged that. But as you expressed it so well, how does one realize something's wrong if they can't see that something is wrong. If we can't see that we have adopted the either/or mentality of White culture rather than our more natural both/and understanding of how the Universe works, then we can't "see" that both things are true at the same time. Oppression at the hands of a White supremacist system is real. Our ability and responsibility to break free of it is real. Once we understand and accept that, we can begin to eradicate the problem from all sides of it.
