More than 100 people have been arrested in the largest demonstrations yet in the state chapter of the NAACP's campaign against the Republican-led General Assembly. Police estimate that roughly 1,000 people attended a rally late Monday afternoon behind the Legislative Building on Halifax Mall. About 140 arrested in NC during NAACP protest

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- About 140 people have been arrested during the latest weekly demonstration led by the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP against the state's Republican-led General Assembly.
Police estimate that roughly 1,000 people attended a rally late Monday afternoon behind the Legislative Building. Hundreds later entered the building, with those intending to get arrested wearing green wrist bands.
Those arrested were taken away in plastic bindings. They bring the total arrested in the weekly demonstrations to about 300. The rallies have taken place nearly every Monday since April.
Hundreds more waited outside to cheer on those arrested as they were transported to a detention facility.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has spearheaded demonstrations to protest cuts to social programs, changes to voting laws and other issues championed by the GOP.

Peace In,
All due respect there are several pieces of recent legislature in the past 3 years, that put all protestors on "certain lists" as was done by Holder during the peacfull, non violent occupy movement.

IMHO there are some things that were good in the past that work, some IMHO are suicidal in today's everyone is a terrorsit world. No one gets arrested by boycotting the corporate benefactors of that local GOP, and a boycott of a million of good conscious, mite, just mite impact the local GOP there more then giving the judicial system a payday arresting innocent people! http://rt.com/usa/348-act-tresspass-buildings-437/

Care to explain more clearly just what you are saying, I'm lost Alarm Clock. Public outcry is a tool that continues to work, I thought; and boycotting is a thing of the past we used well, just not doing it today. I desperately need clarity to reach understanding.

Peace In the Spirit of Sankofa,

Peace In the Spirit of Sankofa,
Well let me be blunt. Do you think the GOP down there, do you think those racists are laughing or trembling? My point is if one desires to do something symbolic then God bless, and as stated I hope the fed does not put them on a list, that stays for life even when they get a pardon for this from the local court. However if the desire is to force the GOP to cease and desist behavior anatagonistic to the Black community, dont you think it behooves them to do something that makes the most capitalist of political parties feel it, rather then play into their police state mentality by giving the police and sheriffs overtime?

Its simply public outcry against a local issue:
