There are a number of BLACK HISTORIANS who have well researched and documented the history of African Americans in slavery in the U.S. MANY of whom I HAVE READ several of their books/articles/or essays; and SOME of their works I still have in my personal collection. --- You see, Corvo, my college degree is in literature and history....No, not just WHITE but also covering BLACK LITERATURE and BLACK HISTORY....

Yes, I agree with you about Black historians and authors too. But the problem here is in what you have said lastly:

This is, in my opinion, the most revealing issue of the entire text of this thread in regards to 'the Black Poisoned Mind', in that some Blacks have been deceived to believe that the source of Christianity comes from some 'White Savior' and White writings, when it doesn't. Based on my research, the Bible has been altered, but the origins of these writings come from Black authors, yet because of confusion, many believe otherwise and attempt to mock others who do not believe as they believe. This doesn't help us at all.

Some Blacks attack Black people who believe in Christianity and Jesus as 'a Black Savior' because they have been fooled to believe in White propaganda that the Bible has been written by Whites. Some Blacks beleive the White propaganda of a 'White Savior' and therefore believe that all 'Blacks' are fooled to believe in this 'Whtie savior format' and attack other Blacks on this basis and this kind of mockery and attack doesn't help us as a people.

However, I would like to say too, that I do believe in some of what Kenyatta has pointed out and in what Malcolm X has stated about the divisions in the north and the south. I do believe you in that we should not adhere to this because it divides us, but I do believe in some of what htey have said. I believe it should be brought out to show us how White Supremacist methods has caused us to be divided amongst ourselves.

i believe this 'north/south' divisions goes way back in time to even ancient Egypt even in regards to 'Colorism' being used as methods of superiority to divide and set up class systems and caste systems with in a government. And I don't believe that many light skinned people and brown skinned people in the CRM used their color to be better than darker skinned Blacks in our fight for freedom, but it would not surprise me that their being 'light skinned' was used as an advantage to help all people of color.

I bleive that Rosa Parks was specifically used to help us because she was a positive person, but it would not surprise me that her being lighter skinned could have been used as an advantage as well. It is just how other Blacks responded to this that makes the difference, in my opinion. It is how we, as Black people respond to the mess that White Supremacy has placed on us that makes the difference, in my opinion. i believe that White racist do respond to Black people on the basis of skin color 'at will' and when we may not realize it. I understand what you wirte but I also see truth in what Kenyatta wrote as well. And i appreciate what you have higlighted based upon his writings, issues that I did not recognize right off hand. I think that we tend to feed into the north/south and dark/light issues that racism has provided and that is the problem. I believe we need to bring it out but we don't need to perpetuate it. And it does seem like the leaders of the CRM may have decided to use a light skinned person for one thing or, a dark skinned person for something else to further us, this is an issue that I wonder about now, but it doesn't seem altogether negative, in my opinion. But, I believe that my mind, as a Black person, was or is poisoned too, and I have to evolve as well like everyone else.

From my personal and educational background, I have read many works from white and BLACK HISTORIANS about slavery in the U.S. So, I do know a "li'l sumpn-sumpn" about Black literature in various genres and African American history.

But, NO, I certainly don't know it all. So, when I asked info for some historical DATA/SUPPORT for his statement, I have a sincere interest in this so-called "history" that I have never heard of before.

But, when asked, he couldn't give me a direct answer.

Instead, he used his usual mode of EVASION which is to apply "Ad Hominem" attacks.


He wants the FOCUS to be OFF of HIM and on ME That's why, throughout most of his post to me, he spoke to and about ME and WHITE PEOPLE, basically, attacking my "Black-ness." ---- OR he fell back on,"I know what I said." (lol)

But, PLEASE NOTE, he NEVER ANSWERED MY QUESTION asking him WHERE he got this so-called "INFOrmation" about runaway slaves going to Africa/Liberia.

You see, this is called....



It is nothing but DEFLECTION and CAMOUFLAGE. ---- He COULDN'T give me an answer. So, instead, he tries to "flip the script" by DISTORTING what I said and, basically, saying that I won't believe it unless it comes from white folks. (lol)

You see, Corvo, SOME people will often say something because it SOUNDS GOOD and they want to APPEAR to be so knowledgeable and "DEEP" to others.--- They want other people to think they are so well informed in various areas/subjects.

But, when asked for some SUPPORT for their statements, they can't back it up and will get angry when they're pushed into a corner they can't get out of.

However, I just won't sit back and let anyone, Black or white, pee on my leg and tell me it's raining; and I don't wish for anyone else to be deceived, misled or mis-informed.

So, please don't take my word on the history and status of African Americans going to Liberia.
But, please also don't blindly accept the so-called "book of Info," either.

I would beseech YOU, and anyone reading this, to do your own research on RUNAWAY SLAVES, FREED SLAVES and BORN-FREE People of Color leaving America going to Liberia from 1820, on-ward.

I mean, really, the man doesn't even know what the word "ILLITERATE" means. So, I'm certainly not going to accept his statement about runaway slaves going to Liberia, AT FACE VALUE.

Moreover, on this site, many members here will automatically discount a white source to discredit the poster who gave it.

But, please also, think for yourself on this..... Just WHERE do you think many of our most revered BLACK HISTORIANS got much of their information they passed on in their books and other writings??

As to written DOCUMENTS, Black historians research many different sources to validate/cross-check information about our history.....state laws, city laws, newspapers, court cases, land deeds, census reports, manumission papers, auction notices, runaway notices, SHIPPING MANIFESTS, etc... ALL of which are "well-documented white sources."

You see, much information is available to us about the history of slavery; but this history is not taught in schools. And, many Black people don't know where to look for it.

So, again, if there is some DOCUMENTED PROOF of "RUNAWAY slaves going to LIBERIA," I would love to know WHERE to find it.

My post to Info-Moetry was of a general nature. It wasn’t even specifically about that only white’s documents being valid. Though the first sentence was. I meant it more in a general sense, that we tend to, not just you, but in the west, to only value what is written mostly. The reasons are many, but the concept of authority is the primary, and the lack of honesty the secondary.

As you know our people passed our stories down verbally, and though some of the details were lost over time the main concepts did survive. I know of some of our history from my Grandparents from their grandparents, that I had not read. But of course it can’t be true(verifiable), for no one had written it down. This is a problem for our people, for many of our notions, concepts and philosophical wisdom is questioned whether it was ours in the past. Our so called ancient religions are labeled as cults by western Academics, just because we might not have a written record of it.

Though I was not interfering in your conversation with Info-moetry about the so called runner way Africans who managed to board ships back to Afrika specifically. I feel that some times you won’t give the brother credit for what he is implying in general. The comments on this forum are not of an academic thesis in nature. We don’t have to verify every statement, word, to satisfy some historical/documented fact toward validity.

I do see that these things are very important to you. So I do appreciate it in the greater scheme of things.
