10:09AM EST November 6. 2012 - CHICAGO — While Mitt Romney will spend the final hours of Election Day campaigning in Pennsylvania and Ohio, President Obama is staying close to home.
Four years ago, the president slipped into Indiana for some last-minute stumping and he went on to win a narrow victory there. This time around the president will conduct a series of radio and television interviews with news outlets in battleground states and he'll continue his Election Day tradition of a basketball game with family and friends.
He also plans to eat lunch and dinner at his home in Hyde Park before heading to McCormick Place for his campaign's election night watch party. On Tuesday morning, he also visited an Obama For America field office not far from his home.
Robert Gibbs, a top adviser to the Obama campaign, said Tuesday the president's decision not to campaign today shouldn't be seen as a sign of overconfidence.
