Black People : Local family says Stand Your Ground law failed them

The story is sad. I have been in this situation before so i can relate to this.

I feel for her and her mom but here's the thing thats bothering me...why did she stay with him so long if he was so abusive to her? Why did she marry him in the first place knowing that he has this problem of beating on women?

I know the questions seems harsh but sometimes women/men have to really start looking around for clues of danger when they are dating men/women,.. i have been in an abusive relationship and sooner or later it will just wear you down until you can't take it anymore. She should've left as soon as she could.
