Jails / Prisons : Homeschoolers Interrogated by Secret Police, Face Imprisonment

I don't see any reference to the ''secret police'' or an ''interrogation'' in this article, can you find an non-religious/non-bias source for this story?

l. The judge writes that because Botswana is “signatory to various treaties to which the right of education is enshrined … It therefore follows the resultant need for every parent or guardian to accord their children access to such education which comes at very nominal fees in terms of public schooling. Indeed it goes without say[ing] that Respondents are themselves the products of the very education system they now have occasion to castigate.

Judge sounds like he or she knows what they are talking about.

''During an investigation ordered by the court earlier this year, social workers found that none of the children in these families want to attend public schools, ''

I will tell you like this young sister once told me:
"I'm not pointing out ANYTHING to you, get off your butt and look for the information yourself."

In fact, that was recently....you know, come to think of it, it was YOU :whip::court:

But, good luck with that, I mean seriously...do you really expect the mainstream media or anyone not concerned about the fate of Christian parents and their right to determine their childrens education to report this??? This stuff happens on a regular basis in America but it never makes the news. I know several people who homeschool who have had "social workers show up on their doorsteps interrogating them. I know one family who the social workers actually threatened to remove the children from their home if they were not placed in public school. YOU KNOW, funny thing, that never made the news.

FROM THE UN RIGHT TO EDUCATION INITIATIVE:
It is now legally enforceable for every child to demand free and elementary education between the ages of six and 14 years.

The UN Right to Education treaties requires signers to make free or near free education available to its citizens. This does not require the signers to remove parental freedom of choice.

FROM THE BOTSWANA CONSTITUTION
Article 11. Protection of freedom of conscience

(1) Except with his own consent, no person shall be hindered in the enjoyment of his freedom of conscience, and for the purposes of this section the said freedom includes freedom of thought and of religion, freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others, and both in public and in private, to manifest and propagate his religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice and observance.

(2) Every religious community shall be entitled, at its own expense, to establish and maintain places of education and to manage any place of education which it wholly maintains; and no such community shall be prevented from providing religious instruction for persons of that community in the course of any education provided at any place of education which it wholly maintains or in the course of any education which it otherwise provides.
