America's First War in Africa. US AFRICOM Launches Large-Scale Offensive In Somalia

Over 43 people have been killed in the Somali capital of Mogadishu in two days of fighting between Shabab (al-Shabaab) insurgent forces, who on March 10 advanced to within one mile of the nation’s presidential palace, and troops of the U.S.-backed Transitional Federal Government. The fighting has just begun.

The last ambassador of the United States to Somalia (1994-1995), Daniel H. Simpson, penned a column for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on March 10 in which which he posed the question “why, apart from the only lightly documented charge of Islamic extremism among the Shabab, is the United States reengaging in Somalia at this time?”

He answered it in stating “Part of the reason is because the United States has its only base in Africa up the coast from Mogadishu, in Djibouti, the former French Somaliland. The U.S. Africa Command was established there in 2008, and, absent the willingness of other African countries to host it, the base in Djibouti became the headquarters for U.S. troops and fighter bombers in Africa.

“Flush with money, in spite of the expensive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Department of Defense obviously feels itself in a position to undertake military action in Africa, in Somalia.” [1]

Fulfilling its appointed role, the New York Times leaked U.S. military plans for the current offensive in Somalia on March 5 in a report titled “U.S. Aiding Somalia in Its Plan to Retake Its Capital.” (Note that the Transitional Federal Government is presented as Somalia itself and Mogadishu as its capital.)

Al-Shabab was formed from the remnants of an Islamist government overthrown in 2006 by a U.S.-backed Ethiopian invasion. Many of its recruits joined to fight the Ethiopians, who have now largely withdrawn, and officials said U.S. intelligence believes most al-Shabab fighters have been drawn to the organization for nationalistic reasons rather than an interest in global terrorism.

It seems as if the Obama administration changed their outlook and presently views al-Shabab's interests within the context of "global terrorism".

So, Daniel Simpson is saying that US starting attacking Somalia and the capitol because they just want to 'undertake military action in Africa, in Somalia.'

That is so evasive.

So AFRICOM set up in 2008 right around our election time and then now, on march 13/14 they feel the need to begin killing and attacking Africans. Unbelievable.

evil.

And to add, this is the ancient Roman month and day of EASTER and the sacrifice of Khnum[the Ram; blacks...Mars]. This is the beginning of pagan time of war. I also think this is when US began their war in 'the Middle East'.

Thanks for this info.

Interesting point!

Wether folks want to believe in secret societies haveing enormous power within the military it is intersting that the dates of the starts of wars from Vietnam to Afghanistan and assinations from JFK to Medgar Evers and Black flag operations like 9/11,
all fall on dates of occult significance.

Thank you Brother.

I was watching PBS last night and a similar subject came up!

This special was about the controversies between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Around 1800, there was conflict tht revolved around 'federalist' [whatever that means?]--Anyway, Jefferson was defined as being hypocritical because he had slaves and spoke of equality for all humans.

When he died, his slaves were sold off to other plantations and his Monticello home was neglected until it was bought by a wealthy Jew.

The special concluded that there were a number of strange events in American history that revolves around specific dates and times.

Ironically, both Adams and Jefferson died on the same day...and that day was said to have been:

************ July 4, 1826 ****************

Another interesting date in history is today; the Ides of March!
