i
have been drowning
in the murky waters
of my thoughts

anger, sadness, and sometimes
hate
have infiltrated my heart
and held me captive

although i know
it is not good
for my soul

sometimes i
welcome these disadvantageous
thoughts to my mental

sometimes i
want to slap
the next person
that says...

“its going to be okay”
“it could be worse”
“it will all work out”

i know these words
are all true
BUT

sometimes hearing that
is no conciliation
and provides no
comfort

when you are going
through it
And….
i have been going
through
IT....

since these are
MY
thoughts and emotions
i would appreciate it
IF

everyone would just
let me
feel what I feel
UNTIL
I feel
Better

i know i will

but right now
i am entitled to
process and meditate on
my own
thoughts and emotions

~~~~Closing my eyes~~~~
~~~~~taking a deep Breath~~~~~
~~~~~~~~letting it out~~~~~~~~~
Hmmmmmm…..
I feel better already
Let it out so it can go...
I had a conversation where a friend hurt my feelings by saying,
“stop trying to fix or solve people’s problems, sometimes people just want you to listen.”
Some of us have nurturing spirits and it’s a natural reflex to comfort someone in pain or crisis,
but in that conversation I learned that people find great comfort in great listeners. So that hurt faded with understanding.
In short, I understand wholeheartedly what your pen so elegantly expressed.
So go ahead and let loose as many emotional storms necessary for you to get better,
because I can weather a storm a lot better than a “slap”(j/k on the slap comment)
I'm sure just writing this did feel better.
Thank you for the read and for sharing your thoughts. Sometimes
people are afraid to admit they have bad or negative thoughts and feelings.
Just because you have them dosen't mean you will act on them.
coco:
Let me first Thank you for the read and say that you are such a delight.
Being a Moon child I completely understand having a nurturing spirit.
I am at my best when I am taking care of others. You are very
correct in your statement when you said sometimes people just
need you to listen. I am one of those people that sometimes I just
want to be left to myself so I can process my stuff without people
trying to tell me how I should feel or look at a situation from their perspective.
Instead of writing about the situation I decided
to write about the emotions the situation created within me.
Anywho...Im Good and yes it did feel good to write
about it. (btw...I would not really slap anyone ) :)
Much Luv & Peace
Oh how I can SO relate to this!
THANK YOU for LETTING IT OUT and for SAYING IT! :toast:
For real, about once a year (maybe twice if it's a REALLY bad year!), I hafta have me a good cleansing cry....I mean, the snotty-nose, UGLY CRY! :lol:
And then, I can come back out "fighting" some more....Then, I'm ready for "ROUND TWO!" (lol)
So, yeah, Sistah, go 'head and LET IT OUT! :whip: :court: :flame:
