Black Astrology : Astrology 4 Who?

I think that as long as we are functioning and listening to "how white people" define things, then just about anything can be classified under the heading of occult, can't it? I'm not as good as Keita is on this subject but it is my understanding that in Egypt or Kemet that astronomy and astrology was a science. Astronomy being the physical science and astrology the metaphysical science. Now after all this time we suddenly find our peoples science being defined by something white people call the occult. How did that happen and why do we accept it?

I agree for the most part sister queentswana but must ask who is it that has referred to theses "Occult cats" in the first place?

Who is it that has labeled ATR systems as "Occult"?

Furthermore, "Occult" is the short form of the word "Occultation". This is in iself an Astronomical term. The issue here then is what is the object in the foreground overing up or "hiding" the object in the background.

In this context I have already explained this phenomenon and its dynamic.

With some of the recent discussion concerning "Occult cats" in particular I find it interesting that some of the very same people who dismiss the so-called "Occult" also seem to embrace what is commonly known as "Astrology". Can someone explain to me how "Astrology" and the so-called "Occult" are separated, one from the other?

Consider this statement, true or false.

"Most occultists use Astrology and many astrologers practice other occult arts. Both Astrologers and occultists admit that Astrology is pillar of occultism."

If we think take into consideration the section of this thread BLACK ASTROLOGY what exactly is BLACK ASTROLOGY? Can this concept be separated from BLACK OCCULT SCIENCE?

I am coming to quick realization that few actually KNOW much in this area outside of a Eurocentric context. So perhaps I am "telling on myself" as asserted but what does that say concerning those who can not address the questions asked related to the topic of THIS thread?

Brother O, the fact of the matter is that most people on here JUST DO NOT WANT TO KNOW. Not that they do not have the intellectual capacity, but that they just do not have the desire to see it outside of a eurocentric context, just like you said. "Occult" simply means hidden.

If you look inside RUNA's Metu Neter, you'll notice that there are spiritual hekau(mantras) for transcending your conditioning AND planetary mantras for MUNDANE goals and acquiring things of the world. Now tell me, How is that NOT OCCULT?

Exactly! Thanks for the response. In fact, if anyone checked both RUNA's early BOOK of Thoth and Crowley's earlier Book of Thoth there are perhaps more similarities than differences.

How then is the AAS essentially different from the ODO?

Some folks never went from the books to the practice. They are trapped in the western conception/framework hiding the Original framework based on Denderah zodiac and the Sothic calendar.
