Coming from a church background ... I thought it was the thing to do until I started finding myself sick continuously. The scriptures speak about this:

1Timothy 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

Here we have a clear indication that you can absorb people energies taking upon their pains, problems and depressions. This is why it say, "neither be partakers of other men's sins". I think it was MetaSaience would spoke about how the 2 hands have two different ways of handling energy.

One hand absorbs energy and one releases energy. Look at the placements upon ones body that the hands are laid. If they lay the hand that absorbs in the middle of your forehead then they are absorbing the energy of your higher power. If they lay the hand upon your forehead that release energy then they could be putting things within yoru forehead that will cause sickness and depression. You have to be extremely careful lease to take on another persons energy.

But note: through such transactions there will always be a giver and a receiver.

If you are highly empathic then I strongly suggest you keep peoples hands off of you ... if it they are kidding and drop their hands upon you. I'm highly empathic and so I rarely let people touch me now. I was talking to this preacher dude one day and he placed his hand upon my thigh ... now natural it was about to be on and poppin because brotha here don't get down with the brown (please forgive my bluntness).

Anywho, this preacher was always complaining about his leg hurting, so when I got up after he put his hand on my leg and I went home ... when I was driving I started feeling sharp pains in my leg ... and before the day was over I could hardly walk.

For this reason I say please be careful unless you truly know what type of energy a person holds ... do not allow this to put hands on you like that. This even includes family members at times.

I practice a technique called Reiki. Which is very close (in my opinion) to the Christian method of "laying on of hands" .


Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

I've been told something similar by a hindu mystic in regards to Karma. He was showing a group of us how to chant mantra for others and he cautioned us to make the intent clear in order that we didnt absorb or take on the negative karma of the people we were interceding for.

In Reiki we use certain "grounding techniques" and we are mere conduits for "universal energy", "chi" or like I call it "Ra".


Ive had to use some biblical quotes to show some Christian buddies of mine that what I was doing wasnt necessarily anything evil.

Acts 9:17

17 And Ananias departed, and entered into the house; and laying his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, who appeared unto thee in the way which thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mayest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.



Deuteronomy 34:9

"And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom: for Moses had laid his hands upon him ..."
