Black People : I hope Destee Doesn't Sell-Out...

What amazes me is that i don't even know half the sites you are all talking about...Literally it was "the spirit" that moved me and brought me to this place...It still is the only site i have been at (though i think i may take a look at some of these places you speak of) and really don't have a lot of time to be here...
And I will continue to support it...I think, not because it is all about love, but sometimes it has that wonderful explosion that you find in a family...sometimes it is about the care and respect you try to give to one another, and sometimes it is about cliques..and why not..people who have shared more time together...we all have favorite cousins or aunts...we all share with some family members more than others...hopefully we all eventually understand that(let me forget we and say I for the moment)...
the reason i believe it will continue to be supported and stay african-american owned..a lot of us want and understand the need to support our "own"... Like me i see you have trusted and supported it...

I do hope that Destee thrives... the only way we can survive is to keep that which we have.

I understand quite well that when We compete with each other for Our voices to be heard, it can be frustrating; sometimes We get down right angry...but for me it doesn't matter... because I think that most of Us all think that We have an answer on how We can and should continue to progress.

Destee is right... So, maybe We should all think about making nominal contributions to Destee and other sites that are truly Black-owned.

Another brother told me to check out this site a couple years ago... I can admit that I got more than I thought I would; and I am still here. There are many of Us who are just tired of the bs and drivel; We know the story, We know how "you" don't or can't think.... Is there anything original?

Someone, Destee? Other Moderators? We are in hard economic times, but can't We say, give $5-$10/ say every couple of months here--so that We or Destee don't have to worry about ever losing this site? If at least 50% of Us who come here does that---We will never have to worry--I hope.

Maybe I am getting BV mixed up with Black Planet? One of the two is run by an African-American male???

100% Black-owned sites have to circle each other.... and the sites that lie can easily be filtered out.

I just think that there are things that We should have for Ourselves. Pseudo White Only sites don't let dissenters in; and if they do, you are relegated to certain areas. I did a check and it seems that most all of the Native American sites have on their banners that if you coming in to disrespect or disrupt you will be kicked out; I found the same thing at many Asian -sites....why don't We?

What are the real Black-owned and maintained sites?

p.s. You know how I think. I believe with my whole heart that it takes all of Us--progressive people- When it comes to family, you throw all the baggage Out of the window ( in my immediate family We get angry with each other all the time, there have been times when certain members have not talked for years; but I tell you what, let anything happen, let Us have to come together--We do, and throw all the bs out). So, let Us begin, here, if We do this together, it can be very very easy. Our people are full of Warriors...Destee is such...let's support her....because she is supporting Us(.)

Family ... the community needs your financial support. We don't have advertisements, popus, all that stuff. If we are ever to have our own, supported by us, for us, then we must pay for it. I know it's a challenging concept to embrace, as we've been taught not to support our own, but there is no way around it.

BUMP!

I heard today from brother kente427mojo.. he is doing great.
Family from the past.

Destee I was cleaning out my PM box.
I saw a post from Sister happy69

I sent her an email. I miss her. :glasses:

She was writing about issues
I hope we truly continue to put behind us.
This Sister has fire.
She definitely is passionate about life.
Then I opened some of her postings.
I recall reading this.
