@ogoun people, mostly westerners, will deem anything they don't perceive as the "norm" as uncivilized. And they view dogs as pets, not food. Many countries around the world eat horse meat, some would say it is uncivilized because in the U.S. that isn't something we eat, but see as a domesticated animal. IMO, I think it's disrespectful to others when we call someone else's tradition (that isn't hurting anyone) "uncivilized". -
