    gogounited(Penny),

Don't worry, this is not a come to Jesus affair:)...Again, I truly understand, but if you keep on, I'm going to have to ask for show and tell on the Bible's manipulation by the ruling elite; suffice it for now that I hear you, loud and clear...thank you my friend for coming to Destee.com, we enjoy you and I have much respect for you...And thanks for the riveting book review comment, Peace In my friend.

    I love Hip Hop too!

Just a friendly and humble fyi one learner to the next, one sister to the next

hip-hop spelled this way refers to rap music genre, it's the actual physical products that come from Hip Hop (the 9 elements), which come from Hiphop (the collective conciousness or creative force)

so what you refer to is Hiphop, capitalized with no hyphens, meaning how we are using the force to transform subjects and objects

You should read the Gospel of Hiphop

Yes, the money comes from of every tax-paying, working American, Black, White and Other.

Well, statistically, in U.S. population, Whites are about 74% and Blacks, 13%.

In "Welfare by Race" statistics, Whites make up about 39% and Blacks make up about 37%.

So, PROPORTIONATELY, there is a greater percentage of US on Welfare by population, i.e. there are more of US on welfare WITHIN our race population than Whites within their race population.

Now, yes, similar "statistics" (teenage pregnancy, homelessness, etc..) would show the same results simply because of our fewer "raw numbers."

However, the issue is not so much about the "more of them do it than us" but rather US helping US lower those statistics for US.

I often hear US saying stuff like "They do it too" or "We're not the only ones with that problem" etc..

And, yes, "they" do and will portray us in the most negatives lights they can in print and televised media.

But, we should be combating that negativity AND the roots of the negative images.

If we truly care about the survival and the potential greatness of our race, we can not continue to see our men and women/sons and daughters on drugs, killed by Black hands, no family units, abuse, incest, molestation, neglect, w/o high school diplomas/GEDs, or homeless and just say, "BUT THEY DO IT TOO."

It is so less important that "they" have the same or similar problems and issues.

What IS important is that WE have those problems/issues.

I will be buying the gospel of Hiphop, anything to do with the collective-consciousness is right up my alley.

Maybe it's just me, and maybe I'm just weird or niave or hopeful or what have you, but I think people are starting to come together in new ways that can and will destroy the down-pressers. It's an odd thing to be a product of this generation in time, I can feel us moving toward a greater freedom.

cool, I think you'll like it

I'm on my third go round, and it is very informative and well written.... I think the blessing with this book is that I know the author, meaning his background, where he stands on issues that matter to me, and I have access to him. It took 14 years to write it.... it is all inclusive as far as religious doctrine, and presents a timeline (not my favorite type of study)

It explores the "cause" of Hiphop or rather explores the existence of the always creative force or collective conciousness that we are calling Hiphop with no hyphens or spaces and capatalized

Freedom was always the promise so as we move toward God's intentions down pressers will just be undefined in our lives

If your a free thinker then impossible to be a product of anything!

there's another lil book i like called Nirvana in a Nutshell
