Thought proving commentary... Though the next obvious questions, is the black family being redefined by chance, or by choice? FYI...
By both, because we are in a time when the young are seriously examining the past structures, movements, value systems, history and religions for themselves. This reality has actually emphasized the ancient "extended family concepts" of our ancestors and so we see a redefining of what constitutes the black family emerging as a reality based upon this unspoken truth. Even now, if I got a problem...in all honesty, I wouldn't call my brothers who my mother birthed to aid me. I'd have to call an extended family member who understands my mind set, values and where I stand at in terms of identity, history or spiritual reality to aid me. Someone was asked back in the day (no names needed) something about his brothers and sisters. They responded by saying that "my brothers and sisters are those who believe as I believe". Do you understand a little more?
ChucK: Also as others might say/write/etc. , fine and well what works for you (as an individual), though others come here to figure out how to ensure the continued existence of us, i. e., as an unique and distinct cross section of human beings... So, now do you understand where I'm coming from, too? FYI...
I only gave that opinion, because i walked in those shoes before. I have learned in life to be able to solve something you must understand the issue or problem.
