peace Not in his defense or anything, but if we are going to be critical of him we at least have to be fair. He has been wearing the dress since day 1, long before the money started really rolling in. As i said earlier, he was grinding so hard that he even had info-mercials (no pun intended towards myself) at the beginning of his plays with him in the dress chasing down bootleggers outside of the beacon theatre selling his tapes, pins and whatever else they got their hands on that said madea on it. His rise, i compare to the Universal Soul Circus because they are very similar. i've also been going to this circus since it first started and they only had one sponser which i think was burger king at the time. Now every company and their momma wants to sponser them because of the popularity of what they have put together. If you have never been i would suggest you check it out and try to sit as close to the front row as possible because they do pull some of the crowd into the ring with them during the show. It will remind you of an oldschool party. They have the soul train line and everything. Even one year had jesus come out in Brooklyn thru a cloud of smoke and the place erupted......lol Ringling bro's and who??
I think he's done a lot as far as creating income for many Black African American movie stars, and his earlier plays cracked me up, but I was abruptly faced with some hostile Black men, and when they told me how they felt about Perry and other Black actors who 'mock Black women', it startled me and i realized that I had been sucked into something that I needed to think about. One of the hostile young men was my son! he doesn't like Perry's works at all, and protested vehemently once when I rented a dvd and put it on to watch.
