There has not been and isn't a 'instant' cure that will 'overnight' end that madness...Though it is long overdue we admit a number of unresolved issues/problems exist, and now we can demand certain black elected officials act or we will vote in those who will...

Also another case study of why some criticism of that african american asking us to help keep him in the Oval Office is justified...

He claims to be a fan of rapper jaycee, so he can't claim to be unaware of the same b. s.

Why aren't you speaking up/out/etc. up and out about this crap, which plagues the called homeland's folks too, Mr. President?

Yes. I expect them to be aware and knowlegeable to start doing their part. I expected them to do that rather than do what apparently has been done. None of my generation smoked in my family, because we witnessed what it did to our parents. I dont think it's unreasonable to see the ravages of drugs and oow births and say, 'Not me!' And, was that "don't smoke" initiative started by "YOUR GENERATION" or the older generation before you?

And yes, I agree that not all of the generation of the 1980s babies are on drugs or were drug babies....and I repeat that many of those who are NOT do lead/example/mentor their peers and younger youth.

But, for those who are the products of oow, high school drop outs, drug users or sellers, single-family households and generational dysfunction, it is quite difficult to "BE AWARE AND KNOWLEGEABLE."

I agree with your observation here, Kemetstry--your assessment about tipping points.

For me, it's all about the buildup of inertial social forces that, once set into motion within a community, a state, a region, a country--once these inertial social forces have built up until they've bound up the majority of a younger generation, then they've de facto become *too powerful* for the old tools/old teachings and the old expectations to take root and flourish.

I agree with you as I am convinced that this was deliberately done to our people (policy + implementation of actions dating back from the Kerner Commission days to the present). Or, the so-called random occurrences of malt liquor ad campaigning, liquor stores on every corner, massive infusions of illegal drugs into targeted communities, 3 strike laws, the crumbling of elementary education, welfare law, crack vs blow prison sentences, easy access to powerful weapons, spacial deconcentration and disfranchisements for felony jackets, and all the rest of the tactics....ALL OF IT was designed and put forward for implementation by the Kerner Commission.

Barely forty-some years since the Commission completed its work, what can anyone earnestly do with these post-Movement kids now to save them, and our legacy??? If the Kerner Commission served as Moses, then 40 years later 'the children' sure act like they've forgotten their parents' existence (or teaching), don't they?

The Bible does teach (through Moses' story) that social engineering can be accomplished in 40 years, until you end up with people with a 'different mind' than their elders, so....

The tipping point/s were first the passage of the Movement legislation, and the riots after the assassinations. Q: How could the foundation of the Negro power base be destroyed (family, church organizing, political clout, dedicated mass support), and how to control 'once and for all' the urban Negro from committing *civil unrest*?

But back to the immediate observation you made:

Where I'm from (location and family tradition, too), it has become a case of *co-opt some of them into our family matrix* or else lose connection with our family member/s who will suddenly begin doing different, risky, unreasonable, dangerous things with outsiders/outside influences, until they dang-near guarantee serial prison sentences for themselves or worse. I'm talking about 13, 14, 15 year old nieces and nephews, here. Even the crop of OG's in our family (older cousins, all) will at least step up and try to warn/bully the younger ones from following in their footsteps, but then will blaze up a joint and smoke it with them at the same time. Anyhow...
