Best Team I ever saw was the 4-time champion 1970's Pittsburgh Steelers, and next, the 1980's Forty-Niners... One had an impenetrable defense, the other was an offensive machine, but both were very, very balanced... Both could score, and both could D-up on ya...

Next, for one season, the 1985 Chicago Bears, whose defense was ridiculous for ONE season, and damned good for about 5 years...

The Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, and Dallas Cowboys of the '70's and '90's were tremendous, and so were the New England Patriots for the past 4 or 5 seasons.. These teams stand alone in NFL History to me...oh, and I'll give the Denver teams that won back-to-back an honorable mention, too...

ravens had the best d ive seen. granted im younger then some brothers so im sure ive missed some great teams.

Purely by the record you would have to say the '72 Miami Dolphins. Based upon total domination you'd have to say the '85 Chicago Bears. Offense may win games but defense wins championship, Ask the Indianapolis Colts...The defense of the '85 Chicago Bears is the measuring stick for which all defenses are compared. This is the concensus of the majority of football analysts, coaches and sports journalists.
