'COULD NOT BE PROUDER'
Obama, who watched the debate on Air Force One while returning from a campaign trip, jogged out to meet reporters after landing and praised his No. 2.
"I thought Joe Biden did terrific tonight. I could not be prouder of him. He made a very strong case," Obama said.

DANVILLE, Kentucky (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Joe Bidenleaped to the attack against Republican challenger Paul Ryan in a lively debate on Thursday, aggressively defending the Obama administration's economic and foreign policies to try to regain momentum in the White House race.
Biden was looking for a Democratic rebound after President Barack Obama's poor debate performance last week. But the younger and less experienced Ryan held his own in a series of testy exchanges.
"With all due respect, that is a bunch of malarkey," Biden said when Ryan accused the White House of projecting an image of American weakness to the world.

Peace In,

In the Spirit of Sankofa,

...This second debate features the Town-Hall format, which should work well for the President. He has to connect with those asking questions from the audience, and put up with Candy Crowley from CNN... Romney's robot style and failure to connect with people is problematic.

Town-Hall Format Could Dull Barbs in Second Debate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—President Barack Obama's plan to confront Mitt Romney at the next presidential debate faces a challenge: the format.
The debate Tuesday in Hempstead, N.Y., will feature a town-hall-style setting with voters posing questions. And they may be expecting real answers rather than hand-to-hand combat.
Some aides worry the president is rusty, having done only one town-hall-style event in the past nine months. And they're wary of a potential pitfall. If the president uses a question as a vehicle to attack Mr. Romney, the Republican nominee, voters at the forum may come away feeling they were mere props in Mr.
Obama's bid to win a second term. To that end, he may not spar with Mr. Romney on every answer, but instead pick and choose his moments, aides said.

Peace In,

In the Spirit of Sankofa,

... Some rather interesting facts about this presidential Town-Hall debate coming up tomorrow night that isn't covered by national televised media. Largely, the females selected, Crowley and Raddatz were a result of a petition from Change.org submitted by 3 teenagers after learning in Civics class that Carole Simpson, a black woman, last moderated a presidential debate 20 years ago:

s-CAROLE-SIMPSON-DEBATE-MODERATOR-large.jpg

When ABC News' Carole Simpson was hired as the first female and African American presidential debate moderator in 1992, it never occurred to her that two decades would pass without another being chosen. But in the years since she slung questions at candidates George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Ross Perot, not one woman has been chosen for role.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/01/carole-simpson-debate-moderator_n_1729849.html

Simpson was primarily chosen from a desire of the Commission on Presidential Debates to put on an "Oprah" style event. Carole's earpiece directed her to different audience members for questions and she did no follow-up questions with the candidates other than to direct them to answer the question, when needed. Strangely, Simpson didn't pick Qwen Ifill of PBS, a black women, as a possible female moderator, but rather Judy Woodruff or Soledad O'brien.

s-GWEN-IFILL-large.jpg

However, nobody appears to have been more infuriated than PBS' Gwen Ifill. According to the Times, she was shocked and "livid" to find that, for the first time in eight years, she had been left off the list of moderators -- especially since PBS colleague Lehrer had insisted that his moderating days were completely over. First, there is the still-simmering question of the lack of racial diversity in the selection of Jim Lehrer, Bob Schieffer, Candy Crowley and Martha Raddatz.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/18/presidential-debates-gwen-ifill-diversity_n_1802813.html

So, not only do we have the first black female presidential moderator, Carole Simpson not selecting Gwen Ifill, another qualified black Vice Presidential moderator of PBS; but the Commission pulled Jim Lehrer of PBS out of retirement over Gwenn Ifill, thus creating a total lack of diversity.

If it were not for the Change.org petition, no woman would be involved in moderating, and the one person (Gwen Ifill) that could have settle two elements of diversity, black and female, wasn't considered and she is livid; and so should we be...

Meanwhile, here's the current headline concerning Candy Crowley:

s-CANDY-CROWLEY-large300.jpg

Romney, Obama campaigns concerned about Crowley’s role as moderator

Now, according to Time magazine, the campaigns of both GOP challenger Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama have expressed concern over how CNN's Candy Crowley, the moderator of Tuesday's town hall debate in Hempstead, N.Y., is approaching her role. In an interview on the news network on Oct. 5, Crowley said she would not be afraid to ask follow-up questions if necessary.
"Once the table is kind of set by the town hall questioner, there is then time for me to say, 'Hey, wait a second, what about X, Y, Z?'" Crowley said.
The campaigns sent a memo to the Commission on Presidential Debates claiming they were under the impression that the moderator would play a limited role in the debate's town hall format, as the commission announced in July:

This whole thing stinks of racism, subtle and overt... Gwen Ifill would have been far better in the first presidential than Jim Lehrer. Lehrer had claimed he was through with moderating.
