Overall, the 2011 poverty rate was 15 percent, representing about 46.2 million Americans, down slightly from 15.1 percent in 2010, data showed. But median household income declined by 1.5 percent to $50,054 in 2011 from $50,831 in 2010. A measure of household income inequality, the Gini index, increased 1.6 percent, recording its first annual increase since 1993, the U.S. Census Bureau said. http://news.yahoo.com/number-u-poor-holds-steady-gap-grows-173933420--business.html Peace In,
Question: Why don't the poor form small organizations amongst themselves to help themselves? Organize to grow food, buy in bulk, etc.
I was just thinking as I looked at the image of the (supposedly) homeless person carrying an American flag. Why don't they form a homeless convention and get organized. You think maybe depression sets in and immobilizes them to the point where they lose the will to 'fight' for themselves?
In the Spirit of Sankofa, ... Because they aren't organized with the state of mind to effect a universal panacea. Peace In,
