Spoelstra played his rotation by ear in Game 2.. looks like he learned about respecting the flow of the game.. He let his opening unit play til about 2 minutes left in the quarter.. as opposed to 5 minutes in the first game.. that made all the difference in the game.. they got out of the first quarter with a 12 point lead.. and OKC outscored the heat in every quarter after than except for the second.. where they tied.. with 28 points each.. which, by the way.. is way too many points to be giving up.. they have to find a defensive answer for Miami.. cause Bosh changes the entire series.. he may be the most complete player on the heat roster.. he can hurt you from anywhere on the court. It'll be interesting to see what adjustments OKC makes in the next game. See if coach has the balls to shake up his rotation.. put westbrook in the second unit.
Peace I fully agree, which is why he was working out, during the off season with Hakeem O. because he finally realized that. Last night he spent a fair amount of time down low. Especially, when the lighter Durant was guarding him.
For real, if okc looses, it will be because Westbrook does not move the ball around. Miami has finally seemed to figure that out and last night they clogged the middle so he couldn't penetrate. When he can't penetrate, westbrook is like a deer caught in the headlight's. He doesn't know which way to go after that, which throws the rest of the team off. I saw a couple of times where durant litterrally came back up top and dang near just took the ball out of westbrook's hands. In all fairness to westbrook though, i don't think his head coach, or cheeks is doing a good job of getting him out of that 2 guard mentallity and teaching him the difference. He was a 2 guard all of his life until he hit the Nba and he still plays like it..... Or maybe it's just his stubborness that won't let him make the adjustment.
yeah, he caught him with the forearm shiver to the gut, but the ref was behind Durant, in a bad position so he didn't see it and Durant didn't try to sell it. One of the only flaws in Durant's game is that his demeanor never changes, so it's hard to read him. Even in spite of the foul, i think he still thought he was going to hit the shot and blames himself for missing it, instead of lbj for fouling him. He's that calliber of player.
