I am at a loss as to why Muslims in Nigeria continue to target Christian churches. Don't Muslims realise that Christians have the same right to believe in Jesus as they have to believe in Mohammed....and they call this a peaceful religion.:(

This narrow minded, and backward form of intolerance is destroying the Continent of Africa. They seem to be on a mission to kill and maim. Can't they use this energy they have for destruction to good use.

There are Muslims here in this country Barbados where I live and they continue to be able to practice their religion without fear. Here in Barbados the muslim population is mostly Indian and few blacks but it is a minority religion. I would hope that those here would never think of doing this madness here.

Africa is crying out for help financially, medically and in other areas and this hatred and intolerance continues to destroy and place this country. What if Christian businessmen decide they want to invest in Nigeria...I doubt they would.

The Muslim must realise that the Christian does not have to defend his God...but Muslims believe that if someone speaks evil of Mohammed they deserve death. People curse God, deny Christ and speak evil of the Christian book the bible, and noone goes on a
vendetta to kill and destroy. As I see it radical Muslims ignorant and don't it.

If we are going a ascribe the actions of men to their religions, let me ask you: Which religion has blown up the most churches? Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Shintoism or Ifa?

How many people have been killed by the so-called, "Christian" Nations of the world in the 2012 years of their reign over the world?

Why does ones religion, even when radically/wrongly interpreted, receive the credit for the treachery of men?

Why not lay the blame on their beards... or shoe sizes? "Men with beards continue to blow up churches in Nigeria"... or why not evil? "Evil men continue to blow up churches in Nigeria".. or crazy?
"Crazy men continue to blow up churches in Nigeria".. or men with uncomfortable shoes.. "men with uncomfortable shoes continue to blow up churches in Nigeria"... ?

but then again, the 'crazed and murderous Indian' was a very successful ploy.. as was the 'wholesome innocent western settler'.

I guess if it ain't broke, ________________.

Skuder why are you so agitated.. I made a statement and it is a fact. Why do people here on this site get bent out of shape and try to argue on issues that have no bearing on the point at issue. There is a real difference between Black Americans and Caribbean blacks and the difference is so obvious:( Why do you think you have the answer to every thing or only your ideas count. You have your say on things and I have mine. Are you the Black Taliban of the Message Board of destee.com?

I worked with many Nigerians. When the kid who tried to blow up the plane coming into metro Detroit, the Nigerian government investigated. They basically discovered they had their own version of radical Islam in their midst. The father is a well connected owner of the biggest bank in Nigeria. Though he swears he was unaware of what his son was into, the government threatened his entire family and basically, exiled them. Nigeria doesnt want any of its people or its nation considered a terrorist threat. So, they threatened the Muslem north and arrested all associated with the radicals. This has started a civil war of sorts. It will continue until one side wins

Are you sure the agitation is coming from me? Are you sure you are not simply feeling the movement of things thought long since nailed down within your own perspective? Truth has been known to rumble and shake; the larger the misconceptions the more things knocked out of place.. so don't blame me..

The fact that you responded without answering a single one of the questions, nor acknowledging the point highlighted, and have instead proceeded to insult me personally.. calling me "agitated", and then reached up into the clouds of abstraction and division to a larger generic but very well-known insult that emphasizes some difference between so-called, "American Blacks" & "Caribbean Blacks".. though we are the same people congregated here under the same umbrella supposedly for the purpose of transcending our alienation.. (says quite allot.)

Your comments immediately took me to something African Scholar Ivan Van Sertima said in one of his lectures.. he said,"It does not help us to emphasize the fantastic alienation that has divided us--not only brother from brother, but brother from sister--that we have suffered all over the world."

And I agree completely. It does not help us.

If I were a lessor man, I may have responded in kind to both your specific and general insult with some generic insult to so-called "Black Caribbeans", but I'm aware that you no more represent the Caribbean than I do America, and if there is any difference to be recognized here, it's the difference between you and I as individuals.

You asked, "Why do you think you have the answer to ever..."

However this question was intended to end, my answer would be the same: We come here on this discussion site to "discuss". Maybe you haven't noticed that in your 2-months of membership, but stick around a while and you will begin to recognize the pattern. I answer wherever I have something of substance to contribute. Perhaps that is why you have not seen me comment on topics such as, "I hate brassiers but I love my undergarments" or "Do You Like Women Who are into Body Building?".

all of that aside.. as general rule: when you post something here, expect a response. And if you begin with the end in-mind.. that is.. shelve your assumptions, close your loops, dot your i's, cross your t's etc.. you might just find yourself engaged in a fruitful dialogue.

-Peace.
