Thank you for sharing, Bro. Clyde. Yes, sometimes, classes are needed for some people....Some people need to know what resources are available to them. But, I'm a bit leery of this fella and his book and classes. I do hope it is legitimate help and not just a ploy to make some money.....Most out of work people, ex-felons or not, don't have money to buy a book or pay for a class. Plus, I wonder how much of his book can also be found out at any local Dept. of Labor. I do know that agency offers FREE CLASSES on "How To Dress for Interviews"..."RESUME WRITING"...and "INTERVIEWING QUESTIONS/ANSWERS." ---as well as listings of JOB OPENINGS and "BACK TO WORK" programs FOR EX-FELONS. I just hope that this fella is not trying to abuse and take advantage of a section of our People who already have enough strikes against them.
In the Spirit of Sankofa, ... Here's a link to his site: http://www.jailtojob.com/From Jail to a Job.html Peace In,
Thanks for sharing....Again, it SOUNDS good but his site says "YOU CAN OWN A SOFT-COVER EDITION FOR $5." ....And it also says, "THIS BOOK IS NOT FOUND IN STORES." ....And when I clicked on the "BUY" button, the SOFT-COVER EDITION is $14.95 plus $3 for shipping. Now, just WHERE is that FIVE DOLLA soft-cover edition?? Personally, I prefer Mr. Lonnie Hunt's method of BEING ABOUT IT instead of TALKIN' BOUT IT....IN A BOOK. But, if this BOOK does actually help an Black man out of jail/prison get a job, then it's still a good thing.....if they can AFFORD to buy the book.....and aint got NO JOB.
