Black Spirituality Religion : How To Do An Egg Cleansing (Limpia)

I did this yesterday and if I were to do it again, or offer tips, it would be to get someone to do it for you. Passing an egg all over ones body is not easy, unless you can elongate your arms, but alas such powers only exist in the fevered minds of Marvel comic nerds.

Another tip would be to use fresh farm eggs which have been in the refrigerator for a minute, and this is because cold items absorb energy better than room temperature ones.

This is the result of my egg cleansing and from what I can gather, no negative energy was absorbed. The yolk broke in half because of the way I handled it - I think. Not sure what the bubbles represent, so will ask around (sighs, PSA to my e-foes, please resist the temptation to rectify this, and send some my way; I will only send it back in a way that will reverberate in your family for generations to come. Trust me on that.)

I can share the way I was taught to do a limpea or cleansing with eggs by my great grandmother. She's Portuguese, not Spanish, but it's
pretty similar.

First, you must wash your hands with cold water. Then put some sort of protective powder or herb or oil on your hands. Some use cascarilla (which is ground up eggshell). I use a special protective powder I make myself.

You must use fresh FERTILE egg. Some say the color of the hen matters. Some will say a black hen. Some a black FRIZZLY hen. Some a white hen. I use a black frizzly hen which belongs to a friend of mine who supplies me with eggs.

Then, I pray for protection and help from my Patron Saint(s) and the Saint(s) of the person I am cleansing.

They stand facing me.

I make the Sign of the Cross at each energy center (chakra) with the egg touching the body or just off the body, "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."

I do this on both sides of the body. I also do the energy centers at all the joints.. i.e., the elbows, wrists, fingers.

Then, beginning at the crown of the head, I sweep the egg downward over the body, praying and asking that the egg absorb the negative or evil or illness (depending on the symptoms).

I go all the way down to the feet.. then turn them around and repeat on the backside.

I then seal the chakras again with the Sign of the Cross.

Then, I smoke the client with a cleansing smoke.

Then, I smoke them with a healing smoke.

I say prayers while I'm doing all of this.

Then, I take the egg and break it in a bowl.Often, but not always, you will see things in the egg, which you then interpret just like you would if you were reading tarot, or tea leaves or stones/bones...

There may be blood in the egg.. this is a good sign that the illness has been absorbed.

If the egg is BLACK, then some magical work is in order because I believe the person is being magically attacked.

DO NOT TOUCH THE EGG.

The egg should be flushed down the toilet, or if that is impossible, tossed against a tree.

Do not worry about harming the tree. Trees use our waste to make food. What is poison to us, like carbon dioxide, is food for them. They will transform the energy.

I often send the client home with a bag of herbal bath and instructions.

When the limpia is finished, you again wash your hands in cold water.

Here*are more details about egg cleansing as performed in Mexico, other than the matter of the evil eye which I discussed. *

I would not say that the Apostle's Creed is indispensable. It is simply the most common prayer that is used. Another very common one is the Magnificat (Alexandra says, see the end of this post for this prayer). Still another popular one is the Salve (I am not sure how it is said in English but in Spanish it is "Dios te salve Maria, Reina y Madre, de misericordia, vida, dulzura y esperanza nuestra. etc."). * I think that such mundane prayers as the Our Father and the Hail Mary would also be appropriate, or even prayers to saints who are called on for protection and healing from witchcraft - like St. Peter, San Cipriano, etc. *

Certainly there are much longer and more detailed and specific prayers for healing that can be used. If you go to one of the last pages of this website http://ojinaga.com/curandero you will see a collection of prayers that is used for a long cleansing ritual. *

In curing an adult (or a child) from spells, or from bad luck, for instance, one uses the egg in the same way, passing it over the "patient" while reciting healing prayers. In order to get the evil energy off of the premises where it can't return, the same methods I described are used - burying the egg in moist earth, flushing it down the toilet, or throwing it into a running stream, river, canal, or irrigation ditch (do not throw it into stagnant water). Still another popular method is to throw it into a fire (preferably inside a stove that is enclosed, so that when it explodes it does not spray its contents all over the place). *

If one wants to use this a divination device, the contents of the egg are poured into a glass of water, and the threads that come out from the egg and go the surface of the water in the glass give an indication of the nature of the spell, or indicate if the person is under a spell at all, but it takes either a gift of divination or else a fair amount of training to know how to interpret these signs.

The threads he is referring to are seen in the picture below. The round blobs are called 'pearls' and indicate that spirits are attached to you.



The Magnificat Prayer

My soul doth magnify the Lord.

As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed for ever.

Signs to look for that indicate an attack;

1. Bad odour emitting from the egg

2. An un-natural egg yolk shape

3.The egg explodes during the cleansing

4.The egg white becomes murky or cloudy

5.Blood or hair appears in the egg white/yolk

6.A face appears in the yolk, or strange letterings
