OH noo! Thats awful. I am a graphic designer and photographer myself so I can understand how much importance a portfolio has to an artist. I hate such a horrible thing happened to you.

NO, I have never had a business, but I plan to start one soon once I can decide on which skill/service to sell, and come up with the start up money. I wish I could find a way to put all of my skills to use, that would be wonderful!

    Yes. All computer businesses.

The first one got me out of credit debt with cash to boot.
The second one, I got screwed out of position and money by a partner.

    Both were most valuable experiences.

a good merchant/businessman/entrepreneur finds opportunity where everyone else doesn't. there is always a demand for goods and services as long as we are living. i would choose working for myself before i give up and go work for someone else unless i really had to.

when a business is failing for whatever reason don't you break even or sell the business and venture to another opportunity? im not saying one is always sitting there for you but people don't just throw in the towel most of the time do they? idk.
