Deep protein and conditioner treatments helped me. Eventhough you did the big chop, your hair is still adjusting, so many naturals will share the same story and sometimes wear protective styles during that phase or simple trims will do it, but each one's hair is different so you try different things until you find what works!

It looks like you have multiple hair textures/types which is common. It looks like 4a on the sides and maybe 4b in the back and I am no hair typing expert but that's what it looks like to me.
You may find something that helps blend the two or you may just have to accept the fact that you have different textures that behave differently.

Yup! And I was also reading somewhere and on here that your hair pattern can be different on different parts of the dome

you might have to go to a stronger twisting agent such as beeswax to get ur twists to hold...my hair at first did not want to hold it's twist because it's kinda fine...but after a couple of months with beeswax i was able to switch to a lighter gel such as shea butter since my hair had gotten use to being twisted in that fashion....bottom line is that u have to train ur hair after years of rockin the relaxer style...good luck!

    one love
