    This is a simple question not to put anyone on front street, but how long do you think is too long to be unemployed? and Do you think it will ever turnaround?

    Things get tough after about a year or two. Speaking from experience.

    On top of that, you'll have to explain the gap in your employment to employers.

    That what I do not understand why they would ask that of anyone knowing how bad it is?
    I wonder what do they expect people to do if no one is hiring and afraid to hire?

    The longer the gap the worse it is. Also, a lot of jobs wont even let you apply if you aren't currently employed. This is announced on postings.
