I hope somebody knows the answer to this question and that it doesn't sound stupid. I have had gapped teeth and up until a year ago they were bonded. My dentist put them down as fillings when he did it. He did them for free is what I'm saying. Every since then I have had a problem doing other things that I like doing like boxing because I keep having to get them fixed, getting hit in the mouth just doesn't pay, lol. Each time he repaired them and all I had was medicaid. Now that I moved from that area and live in the city(Chicago) I don't believe that I can find another dentist that would be this generous to me. He was the first African doctor I had and he was real good, too. That was off the subject. My bad.

Here my question is. Finally. Is there a such thing that dentist can make for their patient that can conceal his gapped-teeth that is removable? I have seen people who have had whole teeth missing that had something like what I'm talking about, this piece that the person that I'm talking about was able flip it in and out of their mouth with their tongue it was so easy. I guess it is kind of like a partial for the front teeth except it doesn't hide missing teeth but diastema. Does anyone know if something like this exists?

I had a feeling this might happen. That's cool, though.

    What's going on?

Yeah your topic is a valid. I think its so ideal that if you think about it you might be able to make some MONEY from IT. There are ALOT of PEOPLE who think GAPPED TEETH is UNATTRACTIVE and to have some way to EASILY CONCEAL that, would be an INSTANT MONEY MAKER. Kind of like CONTACTS or DENTURES. Most of the PRODUCERS of such are BUSINESS PEOPLE not DENTIST and EYE DOCTORS. If they are able to DO IT, I am sure if you or not you somebody CAN.

My own personal opinion is I see nothing wrong with GAPPED-TEETH or TEETH in GENERAL and it just shows a persons HERITAGE and is a SIGN of BEAUTY to the HUMAN RACE.

But that ABOVE is FOOL TALK.

I especially like the response to this one of how gap teeth were looked at in medieval times in Europe

Wow... I had a huge gap in my teeth.. up until about a year ago too... unfortunately closing mine was quite pricey.. about 1200..... for a spring loaded retainer.. but you can also get a perm. retainer bonded behind your teeth as well.. which is my next procedure....
    thats only about 200..
so when it comes down to it.. unless you are willing to fork over the dough..
to close it perm. your gap is hear to stay...
i would check it out if you keep having to get it done..
btw... i think gap toothed boxers are sexy!
Here is a cheap way.. to perm. close your gap.. then your dentist can cement the back of your teeth to keep them closed perm.

That is what I was thinking dustyelbow. I'm not trying to disrespect anybody who may have gold or platinum teeth but anytime these ignorant people can get their teeth gold or platinum then why wouldn't they have something like what I'm talking. I see to many with that crap in their mouths. Poetic, my teeth don't have any gaps at the moment, which is the reason why I'm more relaxed about my teeth's appearance right now but I don't like dental bonding. I have to be extra careful with my teeth being bonding right now and I'm not a soft kind of guy. I'm probably going to end up getting braces.

I have already saved up well over a thousand dollars just in case that is my only option when it is all said and done. I have even put this ahead of getting a car. Even with the dental plan that I'm going to get I still will end up paying 3500 dollars in total. The end result of what braces can do is long term while what I have is more short termed.

How late am I with this post! LOL!!!!

Anywho… for those that are at all interested, you can get a Nesbit partial that will close the spaces. It will interfere with your speech, look unnatural and I believe that it is illegal, but if that is the route you want to go….
