too REAL for too many of us...too many of our children.
i'm working on a novel called, "Surviving the Streets." at the end, i pose the question, "Should children on the streets, who were raised by the streets...not knowing societal laws...be subjected to those laws when apprehended...in the same way as someone who was raised in a two-parent household, and taught society's rights and wrongs?" On the streets, it's all about survival; whatever you have to do to survive is what you're going to do. is it wrong to steal food if you're hungry and have no other means of getting it? does being in a gang make it wrong to kill someone who's trying to kill you? The streets are a different world...a different life...a different way of life. extenuating circumstances should be considered.
thought provoking piece...well delivered.
