I am an Alpha Male , Top Dog ....old boy was wrong with what he said about your dog though you're dog was being territorial. The only way to know if you're dog was an alpha dog is if there were other dogs around him and they submitted dude was just talking out his behind....the part about the humping though is kind of right....male dogs will hump you and that is a sign of their dominance over you ....no dog is always the alpha it depends entirely on the dogs around him or her at that time that's why some dogs fight to establish dominance when two supposed alphas meet and neither will readily submit...also it depends on the breed of dog and certain other variables for instance A.P.B.T.s for the most part don't fight to establish dominance they fight due to genetics for the most part because as with all living things almost nothing is 100%
I have a full grown female rot. I've had several dogs in the past, all male. The dogs seemed to be friendly towards women and children but would get viscious around men. This female dog is no different, as a matter of fact, she's worse. Dogs are territorial for the most part. They don't like strangers to approach their home or the people they love. I think the guy was just running his mouth or he'd have gone inside the fence (and got ate up like you said). I know a black guy who has a business training dogs and is so great with them that the city has contracted him to train police dogs. He tell people not to bring their dogs with muzzels on, that he'll wear the protective gear he has. So even he knows to be cautious, that it's likely he'll get atttacked. But back to what I was saying. In the past with my male dogs I thought them being protective only in the pressence of men did in fact have something to do with them being male. But as I said earlier, my female dog is the same.
Female dogs may also establish dominance over other dogs by humping them, sometimes even male dogs. The guy was being funny, give him a break. And to the comment about not liking white men...
