My Father explained this to me in reference to a "sibling rivalry" which is very REAL. And it leads also to a "pecking order" and this manifests in polics as political rivalry and conflict over political succession that historically contributed to the downfall of specific Dynastic eras.

could you elaborate on this omowale? as it pertains to the dynastic eras?

He was talking to my dog, letting the dog know that he wasn't afraid, and that he wasn't finna run him off. He even went as far as to say ... and i quote ... "You don't scare me, i'll show you who the Alpha Male is, i'll come inside that fence and hump you!"

That's what he said yall !!! He told my dog that he would come in there and hump him, to let him know he was superior to him!!?? I'm thinking to myself, yeah, you go in that fence, and you're gonna get ate!

Hmmmm ...

I've never heard a man say that!

Anyway ... it got me thinking about this Alpha Male stuff.

Brothers ... does this Alpha Male stuff apply to men?

Are you an Alpha Male?

How do you know an Alpha Male when you see one?

Yes it is the sibling rivalry, and the pecking order of men who tend to run in packs. My brother who was born first should of been the more aggressive male in our family. It is found also that the first born males often exude more of the Alpha behavior than the 2nd born. But my brother was spoiled by our mother much more than I was. But it turns out that I exude more of this behavior in me, than he does, in all parts of life. That does not mean that he is a weak male, but power is not his thing.

The males you ran with are intelligent males, that understand how important brotherhood is to males. That is what we are looking for today in our modern manhood. But be careful, we have to realize that the perfect divide for men, is for some outside entity, (very often female) can divide men, by claiming one male is more Alpha than others. Which is why I am a little skeptical as to why this thread was started by a female.

Good point, especially the last paragraph.
