I am really amused at the rhetoric that is being spued on this forum...when it comes to black issues. Some seemed to be self appointed experts in black relationships and black history. People are quoting this book, this professor etc.. but what are they doing individually to help black folks. What about those who are in jail, women who have four children with different fathers. All of the academic knowledge about the original black family in Africa yada yada. I am all for the history of our people BUT I wonder if those who are writing these comments are really concerned with the true issues that affect black folks today. The history of our people is IMPORTANT... but dealing with the present day issues have to be addressed too. Reading a history book or watching a video cannot give a hungry mother food or pay the rent.

What some of those who are spouting this should do is seek ways to help our people. Imma tired of all this lotta long talk.:( I know I am going to be tarred and feathered because it may seem that I am not black conscious enough. I am a black realist. Present issues need to dealt with and URGENTLY. Looking back is good, but there is a road ahead. When we drive we do not keep looking through the rear view mirror, our eyes must also be on the road . Whilst people are writing there are many who are going hungry at night. Perhaps it may be a good thing to remove oneself from in front of the computer and go light one's candle and see what's happening.

well said , there are many here who go that mile to help a brother or sister behind the walls that's
not written , seen or talked about , the love and loyality upon us as a people , yes we need more
to break the poverty wall that hold so many of our people in deep struggle, hunger and homelessly
with the great knowledge shared gives us a place to rethink how to offer a hand so we need it as well
I love your drive , this we need while some is not daily but do give to the cause in hope for better
tomorrows , many still finding self and purpose while others more advanced to the struggle of life
that holds many of our people bondage.....I'm sure there are threads you will find where brothers
and sister alike has done deeds to the cause as well teaching , this why we should be running to the
polls to vote because our future counts on it.

I try daily to help the broken/ mend it and offering try to find shelter seek food drives help the many
in prison with stamp-env and uplifting words these things not talked about near enough but they their
not hidden just unspoken i agree we need to let the world of our people know somebody care and there

we all fight different battles but in the same war .. GREAT POST

It's the internet and a forum, some may be real and some may be on some other ish. You just have to be cautionary as to who is who and what is what. There may be some that know others personally on this forum, but I assume most do not know most personally, so you have to peruse with your mind's eye on a lot of thangs. Use your same sense as you would if you meet face-to-face with someone, but also keep in mind that whoever is posting may not be who they are.

Also I know I may have typed all that to my own detriment, but I never asked anyone here for anything so take it for what it is worth.

I understand you very clearly. The internet is the perfect environment for
deception. We do not know who is behind a computer screen...some are talking the talk but not walking the walk.
