Destee and former Afronutz & newbies:

As far as i understand, the eShare chat format
that we were all so used to was dropped by those
other people and now we all are at a loss.

Afronet/ Destee chat was a truly great place.
Mature & Dignified - yet humorous and goofy.
Sexual and Controversial - yet endearing and friendly.

I mean - we were the only place in cyberspace
that ACTUALLY operated like family !!

    I propose this:

    If it's a money issue ...

how about asking a few of the more affluent devotees
of Afronet/Destee chat to kick in some dough
so we can go back to enjoying the chat format
we are used to and deserve.

In exchange for the loot and the improvements in the chat room,
everyone who kicked in money will be made partner with
Destee. Maybe we can have a better chatroom.
Maybe Destee.com can branch out into more lucrative
web efforts and become a stronger force in black internet culture.

    Just a thought.

Hypnotize ... i think this is a wonderful idea, but i'm not aware of all the pros and cons associated with it ... nor have i done any recent, extensive research on chat solutions currently available. Let me do this first, at least seeing what our options are and how much they cost. I'll be reporting back soon.

    Thanks for the love

Oh - I didn't mean "Chat Solution" as an actual term.
It was just the title of my post.

My actual idea was just a propositiong --

I was merely suggesting that the DESTEE chat room
could be upgraded back to it's former format
or better if more money was available ...
and more money could come from faithful destee.com
members who have a little extra to spend ---
and in exchange for the money - those people
would be made partner with you, Destee.

    Like this:

Destee + eshare/ afronet = Nice Chatroom, great online place.

Now that eshare/ afronet is no longer in the picture its like this:

Destee.com + chat = not so great chatroom, less chatters.

    If we could take

Destee.com + Investments from loyal chatters

it would equal a better chatroom for all
and the people who invested would be made partners
    in Destee.com

Hypnotize ... Yes, I recognize what you are suggesting and am very honored that you, and perhaps others, would be willing to share financially in keeping our home alive and thriving. Truly I am humbled and so very flattered. In my previous post I intentionally tried to sound not as moved by the gesture as I was ... yeah, a Sista try'n ta maintain her composure and not start  all over the page ... yes, I felt your love.

It seems many are under the impression that the chat has been a joint effort, provided by both Destee and Afronet. That is not true. Since 1999 through today, only Destee has paid for the chat solution we've had, not only paid for it but customized, maintained and supported it. All cost has been on me, and yes, the bigger we grow, more resources needed, more depressed economy, etc., etc., etc., ... the more money becomes an issue.

It would be a dream come true if we could all own a part of this community, if we own it we'll pick up paper around it and stuff ... ya know? It's just that i'm so busy doing what i do, not aware of the many considerations (legal and otherwise) regarding what you propose, and i don't have the resources to look into it properly.

I'm spread so thin right now, I don't know when I'll really be able to look into this in the manner it deserves. Perhaps you and others could do some searches on the net, share the info here ... let us begin together learning about business ownership from the perspective you propose.

I do appreciate your suggestion Hypnotize, please know that I do. Even if this never materializes into what we think it could be, I will forever be blessed that you offered. Thank You Sweetie
